Ooh, Mary it's gorgeous! I love it! Want to come to Oklahoma and help figure out how to fix some weird spots in my new house?

Wow, who can say no to a trip to Oklahoma? But I must.

Tucker needs me.

I use Photoshop to visual my ideas. Take a picture of the problem, straight on view. Then search for possible solutions, copy and paste pictures of what you want it to be over the one's of what it is. This is the picture I created to visualize my idea. I even Photoshopped in Thanksgiving dinner! Originally I envisioned white beadboard from Home Depot, but then I remembered the salvage yard. The red barn siding was a lucky find. We are removing the carpet and replacing it with black and white tiles on the diagonal, hence the black and white tile countertop. It all comes together from the vision. At least this system works for me. Personally, I like the curtain and if we keep it, that works for me. We have a lot of wood in there and the fabric softens it. They have fabrics that coordinate with the roosters so I plan to make new curtains to replace the white sheers and recover the dining room chair seats.

I found this label under one of the seats of the dining room chairs. I located the company and they still make hickory chair with wood from the USA! This chair likely was made around 1911 when they first started the business. I hope to verify that. That will make the dining room chairs about twenty years newer than the house. I love researching these things.I have a lot more to find out about the Buck 'n Run Ranch. I plan to vista the Nevada County offices and see what I can glean from them.

Anyway, I am rambling. Try my Photoshop system. Search Pinterest design sites until you find something you like. Cut, paste, and get busy making it what you want. The Bead board at Home Depot was going to be expensive if we bought the individual boards. The salvaged Barn siding cast us $130.00. I forgot to ask the story of the barn my wood came from. I have purchased painted wood to use in my food photography and they always give me lovely details about the building and why it had to come down. The wood salvage place is a treasure. They take logs from fallen trees and create the most gorgeous custom hardwood flooring. They were finishing an order of flooring from a giant pine today and it was stunning. I may challenge them to match my kitchen hardwood floor which came out of old salvaged railcars. I would prefer that to the tile but I don't see that happening. I may try though!

Well, I gotta go to bed before I fall asleep with my head on the keyboard.
