That is why I don't try to raise a turkey :/

Moved the last batch of 6 youngsters into the big pen, 3CL and two SFH cockerels and my surprise (and very pretty) Bresse pullet. Everone seems settled already. That should be it for the winter, hopefully the young lads will get along with each other and the main roo until they are old enough to evaluate. That leaves the small coop with 2 silkies and 7 young SFH's, just right. Let the snow come.

I've been thinking about chicks lately......
Thinkin'.... that's all, just thinkin'!

dont think that I could get all around that plate, but would sure put a dent in it.

I love eggs like this, Cant call them deviled, way too good !

Kathy I always forget to mention this, I used to have friends in your town that raised draft horses. They were how I remembered the town name. I was due south of you, off 71, in MacDonald Cnty, long ago when the world was young(er).

Who the heck has enough eggs right now to make deviled eggs?

Glad I inspired you Ron.

I haven't made my brisket yet, but it's on the agenda for this week! Tonight, we are having steak and Mary's yummy foccacia bread. (and a veggie of some sort)

Remember the black hole in my dining room?

It's facelift is finally almost over. I decided to make it into a buffet with storage below. We bought old reclaimed barn siding from a wood salvage yard. I cleaned the "barn" off the boards including hay, probable poop, etc. Then I hand sanded each piece and added a coat of poly. The board were painted red and the paint was chipping off. But, I liked the look so I gently hand sanded to maintain the rustic look. They also had nail holes and cracks.

Michael built a frame and I laid white and black tiles to make a countertop. We plan to find two sets of vintage cabinet doors for the bottom part but until then, I made curtains to close the storage area off. Please ignore the billowing sheers. The heater was on! And, it works!

I found some doo-dads to screw into some of the old nail holes.

It isn't perfect but it suits the age of the house. The best thing is I don't have to look at the battleship gray hole in the wall! No, the best thing is it gives me more "chicken" display space. I even sneaked in chicken fabric for the curtains.

Nice Job!

Ooh, Mary it's gorgeous! I love it! Want to come to Oklahoma and help figure out how to fix some weird spots in my new house?
