I am gonna do it, too! I have TONS of fabric and I really really want to reduce down to about 25 chickens. With that, I can have plenty of time to keep my coop clean and cute! I will fix it all up!

Not today though. It is too darn cold at 6° and we got an inch of snow.
This morning there were 2 stray dogs sleeping on our front porch! One is a new mama, cuz she had bags full of milk! No idea where they came from. Our dog was inside, in the garage.

Yeah, don't ya just hate finding fox meat in your donkey burger? Honestly, that was not the story I thought I'd see when I clicked on it.Sorry, but it gave me a sort of perverse chuckle today, that they'd object to fox in the donkey meat. I mean, rilly! I have a weird sense of humor, I know. I love Jack and Diane, I swear!

Poor dogs. We're expecting single digits on Monday night and I know where there is a mama with 2 puppies about 4-5 weeks old in a culvert down the road from us. I'm not sure she belongs at the house there, or if she is a stray that just took up living on that property-no collar, nothing to indicate she is their dog.

I was going to try to take the dogs for their first walk since last weekend, but the 0 degree bitter cold stopped me in my tracks. The high yesterday was 3, and no better today - feels much worse as there is a little breeze. My lips were tingling just walking to the post office.

The chickens, however, do not seem to be too perturbed, they were out more today than they have been for a while. Probably got fooled by the meager sun. It does appear that the Cream Legbars are not as cold hardy as I had hoped, they look miserable all the time and I have had 2 die with no evidence of illness prior to passing - one was a year old hen that was laying, the other about 1 1/2.

I just checked our weather. One source says 19*, but the other says 16* with a real feel of -6*. Now, both forecasts are for elevations about 400 ft lower than we are, so usually, it's a bit colder at night than either say. It's been raining all day long and now, the flurries are starting.
