Stella's Social Club

Mary, too bad you didn't(couldn't) take Dar up when he told you to fly out and he'd fix your teeth properly.
I sure thought about it, but I needed a lot of work so I would have had to move in. Then I would have had to help him move and paint the old house. Plus, I would have had to take care of him every time he fell down, burned himself, etc. He would have made me trudge up some hill in 130 degree heat. I might had had to sing at church. Would have ruined a perfectly good online friendship!

Really, my little CL's are very sweet and seem to be pretty efficient feed-wise - the roosters are calm and good tempered, although not overly social. And they are pretty.

I would still like to get some really nice Delawares, they are such great birds - my 2 girls are good producers and good flock mates.

If my girls would ever start laying, I might hatch some (Delawares).

Kathy it's exciting to see you contemplating new things!! My cream legbars are excited but not flighty. Orlando is looud however when he crows. Very peircing. But he crows a lot less now that he is older.
Thank you, Sweetie! I may just have to try that pair. I can always give them back if I don't like them.

Been down and out with dental pain today and unable to reach the dentist. Finally got a refill of pain meds from my medical doctor and Michael is driving into town to pick them up. Hate this.
I surely sympathize my dear... Ohhhh, so sorry. I hope you get it all taken care of soon!

Well if I can help with your tooth problems, let me know.

Sounds like everyone is staying busy and having fun.

Tomorrow is my day off and I am really looking forward to it. All I have to do is mow the lawn, go shopping at Costco and take DS#6 to scouts. We've got to get the rest of his Citizenship in the Nation merit badge completed. I'm trying to rehab my knee as I've sprained it numerous times.

I LOVE hiking in the preserve and when you love to hike and you can't, it's HELL!

I'm supposed to take the scouts NEXT weekend to Picacho Peak for an overnighter and hike... Jan 31st-Feb 1st.

It's only a 45 minute hike but there are areas where if you slipped you'd fall over 1000 feet.

Thursday I start at 7AM and end at 5PM... but I'm putting one implant in and then placing an abutment over another one that was done 5 months ago and impressing for a crown. I'm also doing a bunch of fillings and crowns so it will be BUSY! (Back in October I completed my training as an implant dentist... wish I would have done it 10 years ago and it's much easier than I had imagined... you just have to do your homework and get some good CT scans prior)

Friday I only work half a day, but DS#2s girlfriend is coming down and we may go to watch her compete in a sports competition she's in. Also my nephew is coming down from St. George with his family to attend the year anniversary memorial of my other nephew Steve who died last year on Jan. 25th.

On Saturday, it's our families turn to clean the church so we'll be there at 6:30AM and then I'm supposed to attend a Scout leader training from 8AM to Noon, then we'll go to the cemetery in South Scottsdale for the memorial and then DW and I are following my other nephew north to St. George where we will spend most of the day on Sunday. We won't get back to Phoenix until after 11PM and then I have a FULL DAY scheduled on Monday.

We still haven't sold the old house. I go there at least 3 times a week to water flowers and clean the leaves out of the pool. I'm praying we get it sold before summer hits....

So I came on to wish Mary well and ended up getting diarrhea of the fingers! Sorry.

Love ya all and miss my chickens.

Dar

Kelly I am trying to get in to the dentist before Saturday! It is difficult when they won't return a phone call. My dental problems were never fixed correctly and I have known this was coming for some time.
Please just break down and call my dentist! She's fantastic!

Ugh - dental pain is awful. Hope you get in soon.

Pretty blue CL eggs (not quite so saturated in person)

Beautiful eggs!

Dar - I hear ya on the scouts stuff. My DS finished Citizenship in the Community and Nation. He's still working on the World and Family Life Merit badges. DS #2 crosses over to Boy Scouts next month. Then they will both be in the same activities!

They both have visions of mom and dad taking them on scouting trips. I have visions of dad taking them and I get a weekend to myself.

x2! My oldest just got into scouts and sheesh it is just as much work as I remember my brothers going through when I was a kid.

Thanks Dar!

I'm trying to rehab my knee as I've sprained it numerous times.

U huh.

It's only a 45 minute hike but there are areas where if you slipped you'd fall over 1000 feet.

Yep. Told 'ya so.

I'm putting one implant in and then placing an abutment over another one that was done 5 months ago and impressing for a crown. (Back in October I completed my training as an implant dentist... wish I would have done it 10 years ago and it's much easier than I had imagined...

Told you I'd have to move in. Would I get my own room or have to sleep on the couch?

Also my nephew is coming down from St. George with his family to attend the year anniversary memorial of my other nephew Steve who died last year on Jan. 25th.

I remember that. My condolences for your loss.

On Saturday, it's our families turn to clean the church

Here's the mop Mary.

Then DW and I are following my other nephew north to St. George where we will spend most of the day on Sunday. We won't get back to Phoenix until after 11PM .

Grandson Cameron lives in St. George. We could stop in and say hello but that might be their day to clean the church. Here's the mop Mary.

We still haven't sold the old house. I go there at least 3 times a week to water flowers and clean the leaves out of the pool. I'm praying we get it sold before summer hits....

I'm praying you do to Dar. Here's the leaf skimmer Mary.

Love ya all and miss my chickens.

I could bring chickens!

Dar Love ya my friend! Take care of yourself.

Wow! Love the food pics! What blog is that? I've heard folks can make money from blogging, can it actually be done? I love to cook and I'm always looking for something to tempt my picky child and husband. Her twin has no trouble eating at all, we plump people don't either..... Susie Q

Click on the link in my signature to go to my blog. I have a contract with BlogHer Publishing. They have contracts with 3,000 bloggers they consider "elite" bloggers to put ads on their websites. Well, how elite can it be if I was accepted!
gig.gif

But my blog does get 30,000 to 50,000 views per month. In addition to paid ads there are opportunities to review and products and get paid. I have an upcoming one for Suave and Sweet 'n Low and just finished ones with Monster Headphones and Kraft cheese. I don't make a lot of money but I do get paid. Payment is determined by the number of hits your blog gets. They occasionally accept new applicants but from what I understand the waiting list is quite long. There are other ad companies like adSense and federated media as well. There is a certain prestige that comes with being part of the BlogHer Network though. I mostly just like seeing the payment hit my PayPal account and I can buy something frivolous! I happen to love blogging and did it for many, many years before BlogHer came along.

Anyway that's the scoop. I think it is a difficult time for a food blog to get started now and be hugely successful financially. There are just so many of them. That is why I like being in the "Life/Work" category with BlogHer. There are less of us.

From USA Today: The BlogHer Publishing Network, with 3,000 blogs, is one of the largest and highest-quality publishing networks of blogs authored by women.

I wonder if I could off load my little Isbar chick at the show this weekend?

I heard him carrying on down in the basement and went down today to find his heat lamp bulb had burned out. This little guy has taken out two EcoGlows and a heat lamp bulb!
