. I started going to Chick for their deal. If you buy their calendar (full of cows - "eat mor chikn") then you get a free item each month. Okay I'm a sucker & also picky eater. Jan was free soup - I'm not a soup eater. February was a large order of waffle fries - too much for one person.
This month is a free chicken sandwich. I don't like breading - the grilled sandwich has none BUT that is NOT what they are offering. They have a salad - I don't eat salads, you get my drift.
Four times they will offer a large coke this year. I don't drink the caffeine varieties, you get the to see the list before you buy the calendar.
Anyway they have an on line meal calculator - after I checked out all the calories, fat, salt, etc. etc. I end up getting the kids meal 6 grilled nuggets (NO breading), a fruit cup and low fat milk or apple juice. Last time the woman said instead of the toy (which I never had a use for) you can get a free cone or cup of their ice cream. Soft serve stuff that tastes very gritty with ice crystals.
Still I only get to go once a month when they seniors go to a shopping mall so it beats BK and the other usual mall fare. It's closes on Sundays so my brother can't take me.

Ron I agree - it's awful waking up choking on stomach acid - what a burn. Chewing sugarless gum helps get that taste out of the mouth.
There is a Chik Fil A in Sacramento. We used to have a Popeyes but it closed and is once again a Burger King. Wendy's closed a couple of years ago in Woodland and is going to reopen as our fifth StarBucks--the second with a drive through. A third Starbucks with a drive through is being built on the West side of Town. We must drink a lot of fancy coffee in Woodland.White Castle

No way I'm buying Starbuck's. Even in our little podunk town, they put one in the Ingle's Grocery store. Guess we're high class mountain folk here. For the price of one cup of Starbucks, I can buy a whole huge can of Great Value Medium Roast at Walmart that's really good coffee, IMO.

In the town we live just outside of there is a Burger King, McDonalds, Wendy's, and 2 Subways (one inside Walmart). They are building a Taco Bell now. The wife and I rarely eat fast food anyways. No Starbucks, but two different local coffee houses, one with a drive through , and they are on opposite end of town from each other.
I've never liked coffee so I really can't understand the Starbuckians. My brother says its bitter and burnt tasting. I wouldn't know. He likes Gloria Jeans.
Our Dominick's (safeway) store closed but, about the only thing that kept it going was the non-stop flock of Starbuckers. A good portion of the store was Starbucks. People would be lined up waiting for it to open. They parked daily in the fire lane and I never saw them ticketed. They would come flying out - jump in the car and take off. I thought they'd die if they didn't get their morning fix.
I like my caffeine free diet Pepsi, but, I can live without it, especially since it gets smaller and smaller and the price keeps jumping higher.

No coffee in our house either but Starbucks does have a great hot chocolate!
