Ron I agree - it's awful waking up choking on stomach acid - what a burn. Chewing sugarless gum helps get that taste out of the mouth.

That is a great tip!

I've never liked coffee so I really can't understand the Starbuckians. My brother says its bitter and burnt tasting. I wouldn't know. He likes Gloria Jeans.

Our Dominick's (safeway) store closed but, about the only thing that kept it going was the non-stop flock of Starbuckers. A good portion of the store was Starbucks. People would be lined up waiting for it to open. They parked daily in the fire lane and I never saw them ticketed. They would come flying out - jump in the car and take off. I thought they'd die if they didn't get their morning fix.

I like my caffeine free diet Pepsi, but, I can live without it, especially since it gets smaller and smaller and the price keeps jumping higher.

I do not like Starbucks coffee either. I do like Dutch Brothers but they are a West Coast Company. They do go down to Arizona now though.

Holy crap ron where do you get hours in the day to do this stuff?? I also hate starbucks. I will drink there carmel drinks that taste nothing like coffee. We have a great local coffee roaster called barefoot coffee that has classes on how to brew coffee. What do you use anyway?

Their buns are greasy.

Also do not love in and out. I dont mind the medium rare grilled onion animal style burger but its a lot to remember. And the fries bleh! If I want real potato fries ill make my own. My mother is gaga for in and out however so I eat it for work on long days.

I love Applebee's fries. YUM!

I don't eat out often, but once in a while my mom wants to go to lunch. And the DH wants IN-N-OUT once in a while, cuz he thinks it's great.

I started out using a hot air popper.

I found a Gene Cafe roaster several years ago on ebay used. The poor guy gave up coffee because of Heart problems.

I got a good price on it! I roast the beans a couple of times a week. I will be roasting a batch tonight. I started roasting them in 1986 or so. It was hard to find green beans back them. Sweet Marias used to be in Main but Moved to Oakland so shipping is ground and very reasonable. I buy the beans in 5 pound bags. Tonight I am roasting Ethiopia Afnilo-Shebel Fana Cooperative Green Coffee Beans. It is very good and is similar to a good Kenya AA. I also have a nice Guatemalan Green Been that I alternate with the Ethiopian beans. When the Ethiopian Beans are Gone I will need to decide what I want for the next bag of Green Beans.

Between all of the home made things I do, work and Chickens I do not stay still very long!

no kidding There is a coffee place in Ione on my way to work. they sell Equator brad. they let me buy a pound. love the french roast or ill go to Petes and buy there French roast. Petes at the store is not the same as from there bins at the pets coffee house

I'll chime in on Starbucks. I can't drink their coffee straight. It is too strong and too bitter, even the "blonde" roast. I usually get a mocha with 1/4 the sweetener. That makes it palatable for me. I drink black coffee only other than that. We use a Keurig at home because Michael gets up later than I do and a pot of coffee gets nasty. Plus, he likes it as strong as he can get it. The k-cup system works better for us. Right now I am drinking Marley Coffee's Get Up - Wake Up. It's a light roast without bitterness. I only drink one cup a day, maybe two so the k-cup cost isn't too bad. That's my 2 cents worth!

We just bought Keurig a few weeks ago. We drink and waste a lot less coffee. We drink a lot more hot tea with the hot water available at a push of a button. We are much to lazy busy to boil water for tea.
