Just picked up five 2-week-old Croad Langshans at the PO!

Oooooo!

Very cute Mary!

Ayam Cemani...........................cross your fingers for me!

Double oooo!

SFH, Arkansas blue layers and Jubilee Orps going in Thursday, as well a some of my Cream Legbars, CL mixes and a few SFH/blue Silkie eggs. Some of the SFH and the Orp eggs I was able to pick up downstate, so no PO football.

Woke up this morning, DW has hives or a rash on her arms and front from shoulders to feet. Nothing on her back. Really odd. We can't imagine what it might be. Nothing on me, can't think of any new products we used.

Has she ever had Fifths Disease as a child? I got it as an adult and it was not fun. It's typically a childhood virus. It causes a hive-like rash. The downside is it also creates arthritis like pains in your joints, which I still get today whenever I get sick.

Kelly,

You have two Marans eggs with pips!
Yay!

So adorable!

I'm talking about down-sizing, but this is what I put in the incubator yesterday.

Just received the box with the Croad Langshan hatching eggs. What a disappointment. I am not even going to bother setting them and I am going to list the chicks on Craigslist. Will lose $200.00 but, oh well. One or two look slight blush colored in this pick but trust me, they are plain old brown eggs.

Bummer. You can always hatch them and sell the chicks on craigslist.

Took this yesterday from inside the house.

Beautiful!

I went out to check on the bees this afternoon, and they were working the outermost frames now, so I added the Queen excluder and the Honey Super!

That IS a pretty hen!

Quote: You know, I have read that when the dandelions are blooming in the middle of the yard (not in a protected spot) it is time to put the potatoes in the ground. Anyone else hear that too? We do have dandelions blooming in the middle of the yard right now. I am not going to do potatoes this year. Tried last year but chickens got turned into that location and well you know how that went.

They look 100% adorable, and are one of those breeds that I would love to try keeping one day. Congrats!!!

Did I miss a post somewhere? What is wrong with the color of the egg? I have never had Langshans. I agree with Kelly...set them and sell the chicks! You may fall in love anyway.

Cute as a button!

Oh no, I'm sorry.

Kelly, Neither of us had even heard of fifths disease. So we had to look that up. It looks like they just let it run it course, which is her current plan for whatever it might be.
