I finally get to see the "world's cutest dachshund - he does have gorgeous eyes, I've always loved the longhaired doxies too.

He had me the first time I picked him up at 7 weeks, gazed lovingly at me, put his head on my shoulder and sighed

. (he is pretty spoiled but is so sweet-natured it just doesn't seem to be a problem)

That's windy! I made the first fire today! Egads I hate the fake brick at the bottom. I need to figure out some way to fix it and leave the 120 year old brick on the top part.

This looks like it belongs in Better Homes and Gardens. We had our first fire yesterday too, but ours isn't as pretty since its in a woodstove. But we were nice and cozy warm!

These have been taunting me all day. left over from the ones I took to the neighbors yesterday.

I've got to put up the Halloween decorations. Somehow, I don't mind getting them out, but I hate putting them away!

This looks like it belongs in Better Homes and Gardens. We had our first fire yesterday too, but ours isn't as pretty since its in a woodstove. But we were nice and cozy warm!

I miss the wood stove from the last house! It was so easy to keep a fire going in and no need to bend over all the time as the logs got dropped in from the top. It kept the entire house warm if you didn't let the fire die out.

This one is more decorative without producing much heat that ends up inside vs out the chimney. I just wanted a fire so I made one. I still hate the fake b rick and simply must find a good way of getting rid of it or disguising it. So ugly!
