Stella's Social Club

Hi all! Busy today doing leaf notices on the new food blog. But I did have time to make this:

p.s. I know you are thinking "yuck" Diva!
Oh that looks delicious! I saw on the news last night that they can't even get the crab unloaded fast enough. The fishermen were saying it's the heaviest crop of crabs in decades.

Up here that would be considered a threat

. And it is again (still, actually) snowing here.

I think that shell looks fabulous.

Kelly hope your child is better in time for Thanksgiving.

I remember my son caught a 24 hr .bug that was going around and spent Thanksgiving Eve in the E/r, he wouldn't stop vomiting. We were there for hours - the doc said he'd rather not start an IV because it was difficult on a young child (think he was 3).

Finally it subsided and to test it, the doc. gave him a small glass of apple juice. He drank it like he had never had a drink in his life. After an hour and no barfing he said we could take him home. If he started up again we were supposed to bring him back for an IV. Thankfully we didn't need to.

For years after he called that doctor, the apple juice doctor. He was so pale at Thanksgiving and we were all so exhausted from being up and worrying so much - it was a pretty subdued BUT truly a THANKFUL time.
Times like that remind you how very much you

have to be thankful for.
Thank you Diva. He's feeling better this morning, though he is still not going to school. He had what I can only describe as night terrors last night. He was screaming and hallucinating. I have never seen anything like this. He was hot and sweaty to the touch, but the thermometer said his temp was normal. (and I took it like 10 times) I still made him get in the shower and cool off.

Quote: X a billion!

I doubt we will get snow, it warmed up considerably last night. We're 52 degrees this morning. But a bunch of rain would be just fine!

My son suffered from night terrors also. He wouldn't even come out of them when I took him in the shower! I felt awful for him - it must be terrible to be in the clutches of such a frightening experience. I feel for you!

How about Buffalo, NY!. They had 5 FEET of snow yesterday and more on the way. Then they expect to warm up and are very worried about massive flooding. Too bad the snow can't be distributed around to the drought areas!

My Youngest had night terrors. It is very hard the first time but you get used to it.

We did not sleep the first time and were very worried. The Dr.s assured us that all was fine. The daughter did not remember any of it and was bright and cheerful the next morning. We were exhausted.

She had them several time a year for a couple of years but stopped having them by kindergarten to second grade.

Turns out his hallucinations last night were from the medication they gave him to stop the vomiting. I called the doctor and told them to notate in his chart that he is never getting that stuff again. They gave him Zofran, which is used in chemotherapy patients to stop their vomiting. It disrupts seratonin levels in the brain - if I had been told that, he wouldn't have had it in the first place.

Awful for you too! My son most definitely remembers his, he kept asking me if this is going to happen again tonight. Gosh I hope not!

Hope he gets even better today. Being home from school on a sick day and actually being sick is no fun for anyone! Must have been a rough night too. You probably have a good case of cabin fever setting in since you are usually out and about. Bake something!

Yikes! I just read your post about the Zofran! Michael was getting it at the hospital and he was getting really agitated. Uncontrolled agitation. He kept saying he hated everyone for no reason at all. It was really freaking him out. Flush that stuff down the toilet! There are other medications if he still needs it but hopefully he won't.
