Here's my work ethic for the day- stick a fork in me I'm DONE. LAST birthday cake of the year! It's a marathon from September until November with 5 birthdays. I'm the loner in May. It's Pinkie Pie from My Little Pony in case you can't tell. And don't tell me if you can't tell.

While I waited for the cake to bake and cool I mixed up two big batches of hot chocolate mix (those are gallon containers!) and new batches of Taco Seasoning and Chili Seasoning. With a big family I get REALLY tired of packets or pulling every spice out for every meal. These make it so much easier!

That cake is darling! And what a great idea to make your own mixes..now you need to share what you mixed for the seasonings. Or, did you put the packets into jars?? That's a great idea too. I know what you mean about those packets. Yes, I cheat, and use packets.

Lol that's hot cocoa mix, it's very popular at our house in the winter! I'm hoping these last us all winter. We shall see.

The seasonings recipes I use are from allrecipes.com. I like it because I can log in and save my recipes, and with a single click I can change the serving size. I think the taco seasoning i made at 200 servings... I'll share the links later on the pc. I'll bet this batch lasts about 6 months. It's somethinhs the kids eat well AND the adults enjoy too! Use it for tacos, nachos, burritos, etc.

Packets are easy but when I go to grab one and the cupboard is empty I grumble and have to pull out all the spices when I don't have time. This way that doesn't happen and I can customize it to our tastes.
