Rinda, that is awful. And just wrong. I'm afraid the police would get very tired of me having conniption fits until they made some effort to investigate.

She did call them back today and have them bring the fire marshal out to look at it. But the coop was so far gone he could not pinpoint a starting point for the fire. But after he left Chandra noticed an accelerant burn line in the dirt in front of where the coop doors were. That's why it looked to the fire marshal that the fire started from the floor (he tried to say the 2-3 inches of large wood chips could have combusted). The coward opened the coop, doused the floor, lit it, and ran. If it was a neighbor disgruntled about her roosters they probably had no idea they just fried nearly 10 grand in chickens. But since she saw and heard nothing before the fire there is nothing to go on unless it happens again.

If it really was arson, I can't believe who could do such a thing. Locking something up and leaving it to burn is beyond cruel. Horrible.

Regarding the fennel, roasting it in the oven with root fruits works nicely, just put some oil and salt on top of everything. I've also had delicious fennel top ice cream. But I think the chef was just showing off with that.

The Police and fire marshal need to understand how much the ayam cemani were worth. There were eight pullets and some cockerels, so that is getting into the ten thousand dollar range. The county I live in did not investigate theft of Hay. An Under Sheriff looked into it and discovered that more than a Million dollars a year of hay was being stolen. They now investigate and arrest people for stealing hay. Ag crimes are often ignored because of an assumed low value.

If a petrochemical was used the residue can be detected. I hope the person does get on them to investigate or at least rule the fire as arson.

spontaneous combustion does not happen in deep litter. you need a lot more and deeper material for that to happen. The fire marshal is not really educated right, some type of elected official that is also the coroner? The Mayors relative? There is a thing called science and a lot of new research is par of fire science now. People that had been charged with arson and even murder are being released because new research has proven that the things fireman were taught years ago are just plain wrong.

Ill just tel my wife there big chicken eggs. she won't even notice haha
If Loca keeps laying like she is now there should be some nice big eggs by then! The eggs are 4 inches in height and 5-6 inches in length. If they won't hatch in your r-Com I can loan you the very Hovabator that Loca and Chica hatched in. I bought it when I picked the girls up!

See, your wife won't even notice the difference!
