Hoping all those who are not feeling well get better soon! It's nasty cold and raining today, turning to flurries overnight. Not great weather when you are a migraine sufferer, but at least I know I don't have the flu or any awful stomach bug.

Cute chick pic to make you feel better. Rachel is a first time mom and here are a couple of her five chicks:





And one of Serena's weirdo eggs. She is a small bodied hen, daughter of Isaac with my red mixed breed hen, Rita. She lays these jumbo torpedo eggs that won't fit any carton.

And it's about 3" long, like all the others. Serena is not a big hen so if she's going to lay eggs this big, I guess they'd have to be elongated!

Thanks, Rachel is doing great with them. I'm very proud of her, but then, she comes by it honestly, being Dottie's daughter.

Got my knives today Kelly! That was the UPS guy delivering them when we were trying to have a phone conversation and Tucker went psycho.

They are razor sharp!

Injuries so far:

1.) Tiny stab wound in fingertip trying to get the big chef knife out of the cardboard sleeve.
2.) Cut fingernail trying to peel celeriac with small paring knife.
3.) Tip of nail cut off while dicing potatoes.

That's it so far!
