That's me except for the kindle.   I forgot people used  night caps (not the kind you drink).  I wear an ear warmer to bed because it's cold.  Not so weird after all.

I am heading out at daylight to find those socks!

They are doing good, getting big and keeping us busy, thankfully they are sleeping now. This is from a couple days ago:

My gosh they are adorable. I love the one in the upper right.

Forecaster say an "atmospheric river" is barreling towards us! The sky is gray and every few minutes the wind howls and the pines start swaying. Just a few big drops of rain have fallen as of yet. I hope this doesn't turn out like the blizzard that didn't happen. We need the rain!

Yeah, tell me about it. I drove home in it yesterday from Mammoth. We had the pleasure of experiencing:

Extremely high winds, enough to push over a tractor trailer and a 5th wheel travel trailer. Had to slow down to 35 to stay on the road.
Got diverted due to a fire in one town.
Dust storms in the desert.
Then it started raining.
Got stuck for 3 hours at Verdi due to another overturned flatbed semi truck.
Ate dinner from a mini mart in Verdi.
Filled up the gas, so we wouldn't run out.
Got through semi truck wreck.
Got stuck in chain controls.
Got through chain control, and drove while near white out conditions over the summit.
Thankfully, it went back into rain.
Finally got home.

It took 10 hours in total. We left Mammoth at 1PM and got home at 11:20PM. (It took 5 hours to get there Thursday)

40degrees here no wind, I may finally get most of the driveway uncovered. and ready for the next time -

we had 60 mile an hour gust of wind. Ripped my shade cloth off the top of my brown red ameraucana. Blew a tarp down the road somewhere that was attached with clamps.
at 3am I heard a big boom. was a power line . I had 11 new baby Brown Red Ameraucana bantams in my carport brooder. luckily and i mean luckily i woke up and the power went out. so I was able to get my generator going.
