Hopefully the silence means Mary has been busy UNPACKING. Another cake creation. My very first attempt at fondant. This is Gyrados the Pokemon for my son's 10th birthday. I still need a lot of practice working with fondant but I'm fairly pleased with it. The raised body shapes are Rice Crispy treats and the sticking out fins are colored almond bark.

I call dibs on the mouth - that is so neat. How many hours do you have to put into something like that? Decorating is the hard part.

Awesome cake. I only tried working with fondant once. Just getting it colored is a workout. Very nice.

And yes, we are in the house but not much unpacking going on yet. Johnny finished around noon and he had a housecleaner come and clean the house from top to bottom as a courtesy. It looks awesome. I made clam chowder in my new kitchen but I had to use pots, pans, bowls, and utensils from the motorhome. I am washing my first load of dishes so I opened a couple of boxes the added stuff until I had a full load. Everything with need to go through the dishwasher before getting put away. Even stuff in boxes need it.

My new work triangle is a real work triangle! I got used to the tight kitchen in the old house so trekking across this big kitchen is a shock. I didn't really get a feel for it before the renovation because my fridge was in the garage and I didn't use the dishwasher

. I know I am going to love it!

I think Mary, Michael and Tucker are too pooped to do anything but fall asleep.

I still have a bit of steam left in me but Michael and Tucker are done! I found a couple of signs for my kitchen. I like the big graphic. The rooms are big so something like this makes more sense than a bunch of little things grouped together. At least I think so. Plus, when I get up and make my coffee in the mornings I can dream that a pastry will appear!

MY new Thermidor dishwasher doesn't work! Yikes. I was so looking forward to using a dishwasher after months without one!
