Stella's Social Club

Ok, all signed up with fresh organic produce delivery starting next Wednesday. Let the creative cooking begin!

BTW, has anyone heard from Jason lately? I have been wondering how he's doing. I should reserve a room for him at Stella's place, just in case, although he is a youngun too! He'll probably pop in with pretty snow pics soon.

I put together a Thanksgiving feast for my girls. They got sweet potatoes, boiled russet potatoes, parsley, sage and thyme. Saved the rosemary for us! I also bought a large package of giblets. I cooked them and chopped them into little pieces so they wouldn't know it was chicken. :-)

I put everything on a plastic tray and took it to them about high non, as evidenced by the lousy pictures. Judy immediately put herself in charge of the feast and decided that she and Stella were the only ones allowed to eat. So, I took the tray and tossed all the food on the ground in various locations because she's old and can't be everywhere at once. They gobbled it up! Get it? Gobbled it up?

Managed to get all seven in one pic!

Wow. That's a beautiful place. The indoor pool would be perfect for low-impact exercise classes. I did not see the kitchen though, I 'm sure that would be tops on Mary's list

I thought it was odd that there was no picture of the kitchen, too, because it is a great one. They have a walk-in refrigerator and a walk-in freezer as well as a whole room for a pantry. You are right on the pool - both the owner and his wife have had joints replaced and do exercises in the pool (with a private therapist, of course!) They also didn't show any of the state of the art barns or my office, which is in a beautiful old Victorian house.

I've been meaning to ask you if the new kitchen is working as well as it looks. You certainly have the facilities to make some great stuff there!

The new kitchen is awesome and I get a good workout. Still finding better use of drawers and cabinets and rearranging things as I go. Yesterday I opened a top drawer once to get a dishtowel and the drawer at the bottom at least 20 times for plastic wrap or foil. Those two got switched!

Well now someone on anothter thread had everything for their Thanksgiving dinner from their garden and meat too. I was pretty ashamed of myself and decided to make that my goal next year.

I doubt I'll have Turkey from here but the veggies part and bread should be home grown.

I've planted my garlic and prepared the beds I have, but next spring I plan to put in a Potato bed. Pictures to follow when I do.

Seems to me a small "Kitchen" garden (Just outside the kitchen) shouldn't be too hard to do. Herbs and what not.

Thanksgiving was interesting at my house. Early in the year, I hid some wine to save it for a special time. Well, I hid it REALLY well because I can't find it. I went through everything I could think of, and no luck. In looking for the wine, I forgot the butternut squash.

Sounds like Kelly is ready for Stella's Place, the memory division!
