Thanks. We are getting a good amount of rain. Of course on the news they just keep saying that it won't make a difference. Gotta' put a negative slant on EVERYTHING!
I read an article that said to end the drought we need 150% of normal snow back and a similar number of rain up North for Shasta lake.

The snowpack was 107% at the last check--we are getting there regardless of the doomsayers.

great news Ron

Better than rain is the snowpack. I can personally tell you that they got about a foot yesterday. I was up there for my son's ski race. It was gorgeous! The plows and the rotary snowblowers couldn't keep up with as fast as it was coming down.

The gondola:

Icicles from the roof almost touching the snow.

The snow is great!

But we need the rain up north to fill lake Shasta. Shasta is the largest Federal lake in the State and supplies most of the irrigation water for Farmers in the Sacramento and Central Valley. We need the snow for Drinking water and the rain up north for the Farmers.

Go El Nino!

My son called and said that Buddy got his driver's license today! How could that be? He is just a little boy!

Tomorrow is my furniture painting class. I am looking forward to everything except the 80 mile drive by myself. My painting technique is pretty good. I am hoping to pick up some tips on furniture aging techniques and durable finishes for tabletops. I want to paint my dining room table but don't like wax for heavily used surfaces with hot pots and stuff on top.

Michael finished the deck railing and is now working on closing in the space under the deck with horizontal boards. It is really looking nice.

Off to a hot shower and my blow Dryer!
