If you are very, very careful you can still scrape the side while it is running with the bigger kitchenaide...I use a butter knife to kick the flour up when kneeding bread too.

I was amazed one time while watching a guest on the Ina Garden show when she creamed the butter, sugar and eggs, then dropped the bowl, took off the beater and then tossed ALL of the rest of the ingredients in(dry ingredients were sifted). She said you do not have to do the "alternate stuff with mixers like this, it's silly" I about fell out of my chair

It turns out she is absolutely correct.

I am in need of a new mixer and am shopping around.
Mine was a wedding present form my dearly departed grandmother. She worried it was not fancy enough. But the china I got sits there. The mixer never gets put away and I can think of her every day. Kitchen aid ROCKS. I got a

Michel and I are actually going on an overnight trip to San Francisco on Dec 22-22nd. We'll leave Friday morning and stop in to see Michael's mom on our way down. It will be a short visit. We'll then proceed to SF and check into our hotel. That afternoon and evening we'll just sightsee. On Saturday we will go to the Cow Palace for Victorian Christmas celebrating the 200th birthday of Charles Dickens.

There will be food, shopping, entertainment, and occasionally we will be accosted by street people. They will have (I think) 14 different "Victorian" neighborhoods all over the Cow Palace. I am excited. It sounds like fun. We haven't been out in a long time.

I made pumpkin spice cupcakes (with cream cheese frosting) and root beer cupcakes last night for the Boy Scout's Christmas party. They were a hit! Still have some pumpkin cupcakes left over.

Jason, you were right about my predator issue being a hawk. I went out yesterday to collect eggs and they were all squawking. I saw a HUGE hawk fly off one of the posts. I don't know what kind of hawk it was, but it had a salmon colored breast. Anyway - with the netting up, no chicken dinner for him!

glad the netting worked. how is it with leaves and pine needles? my set up collects both. hmm maybe a red shoulder hawk?

We had the same type of hawk fly over the yard today and land on top of the power pole and just stare down at what he couldn't have! HaHa Hawk!

Oh, and I entered the NYD hatch yesterday with 8 of my Cream Legbar eggs. I don't know if they are fertile but I have caught Reggie Jr. in the act so I thought I would set them and find out.

I had never heard of it.. It sounds like a blast. I bet there is going to be so much cool stuff. I wish I had a weekend of before Christmas. I would make my husband take me. He's probably glad I don't .. LOL

Only when I can take it somewhere. I didn't lose 25 pounds by baking, that's for sure.

The pumpkin cupcakes had no oil in them either. I like that. It had buttermilk instead for the moisture.

I will PM you my address.. You can bring it here :)
