Tucker is almost 6.

HI Kathy! Update us!

Company gone. I am crashing today! I have never been so tired in my life. Time to lay in bed with my feet elevated and get the swelling down. Michael will be home this afternoon from his family function. Tomorrow I will start painting again but today is for resting my mind and body.
Enjoy your well deserved rest Mary!

Dropping in to say hi to ya all!

Take care of yourself! You are doing an awful lot!

Play toy for your pup...cute. :) That would be crazy having it go off in the middle of the night! Our first Golden always needed what we called .. a binky. He needed something in his mouth all of the time. Went through several..his favorite being a duck that quacked.
My dog de-squeaks any toy we give her. The only one that takes longer for her to destroy is the double tennis ball that looks like a barbell. I would never play with her without a toy in her mouth because she plays to rough and it hurts me. So now she greets me with something in her mouth, most of the time a shoe.

She just picks it up, doesn't hurt it. If she's outside, she'll have a pine cone or a rock or stick in her mouth.

Mary, I don't know how you do this all of the time. I spent Friday scrubbing the rest of the cabinet doors with TSP. Saturday morning, I wiped them with vinegar and started painting all the door and drawer fronts. It took a long time since I have to do 2 coats on each side and wait for it to dry before flipping them over to do the other side. I had quite the assembly line going. Yesterday I finished, except the last coat on 2 doors.

While I was waiting for those to dry, I started painting the risers of the stairs. The risers are painted white, the treads are red oak, so they will have polyurethane on them. That was painfully tedious, and involved laying on concrete to get low enough to paint under the stair treads.

After 3 days of painting, my biceps are sore. I painted 11 drawers, 2 face frames (for in front of the sink) and 23 door fronts. (inset panel) I hope to never have to refinish cabinets again in my life. I also helped weed whack, so that could have contributed to sore arms.

The hinges aren't supposed to be in for another week or so, but here is a preview of the kitchen work I've done. I know the red tile is hideous, but it's in great shape and it's a rental. (plus, if the people that lived there before we bought it couldn't destroy it, nobody can. Disgusting doesn't even begin to describe how they lived)

Laundry cabinets:

A few of the finished door fronts. Not done this weekend, but I also stained that redwood on the wall.

Happy, sounds just like my first Golden..always had to have something in his mouth. Saw you coming, picked up something.

And...wow! That's a lot of work all righty. I love those cabinets. What a wise color to go with the red. I think it looks really sharp!

The good news is that it looks great! Plus, next time you go to the gym you can skip biceps! Win/Win!

Finally got a food post done. I made these with the grandkids on Saturday. Awesome! I made another small batch today for photos. No one was going to wait for me to take a photo on Saturday. They are basically two onion slices, one bigger than the other so you can cram fresh mozzarella between them. Then dredge in flour, beaten egg, breadcrumbs and deep fry. Good grief.
