Where the heck is everyone? Summer busy season, I guess.

Cyn posted this link in her Atlas thread, very well written, and true in my opinion.

Thanks for sharing the article!

The hive checks went well. No stings, all 3 are queen right, and my honey is capped and ready to harvest. I'll be extracting this weekend. The super is packed wall to wall. Heavy as heck too.

Glad the hive checks went well and you didn't get stung.

Whew, glad it went well.. I read your first post on getting ready to do this. Glad I kept reading, I was going to say..be careful!

Now, we are waiting on those beautiful photos of fresh honey!

I think I want to go eat at Mary's house sometime. Lots of times.

It's pretty warm, low 90's, but we are in for triple digit in two days. I'm hoping it won't get there..the weather man can be wrong at times..so can the weather lady. :p

Mama hen showing the chicks how to dust bathe, pretty darn cute, something else to see. Things are pretty good here. Chickens know how to get down into that cooler dirt to stay cool. I wet down an area for all of them. They use it when it's this warm!

Cynthia do I spot a little blue chick with your broody mama? what a doll !!

Missed this..sorry..Yes! She is an Orpinton mix baby from some eggs that I won in a contest on here. She was so darn cute today really getting into the dust bath thing. So tiny and doing the big chicken dust bath. Right by mom. :)

It's been upper 80's with 80+% humidity the last two days here. Before that a few days or 75 but upper 40's lower 50's at night, had to wear a sweatshirt to chore the other morning.

Oh, you have a broody! We need pictures. Good idea to wet area down for them, might have to try that sometime.

My 2nd broody has a chick hatching now. The 3rd broody is crammed in with her. I've never had broodies co parent, but we'll see.

Mary, I jinxed myself. I remember telling you that welsummers don't go broody. Well, I have one on the nest. :/

And the crazy orp is trying to be broody too. She's the egg squisher and then raises invisible chicks.
