Stella's Social Club

Back from the endodontist. Thanks for the PM Dar. Check your email. The good news is the teeth with the root canals are fine. "Beautiful" in his words. He was pretty vocal about the shoddy work done by the first dentist. X-Rays and exam seem to point to the upper right wisdom tooth as the source of the problem and I am having it surgically extracted on Thursday. There is a large cavity right next to the root that he thinks is causing all the referred pain. So I will start there and mover forward. Thanks for all the kind words. Skipped my pain med since I was driving so i have to go take it. I have a chick roast braising in the oven. I hope I can eat a little of it!

Love you guys, as always! Sorry I missed your calls Kelly. I am home for the evening now though.

You will feel so much better soon!

Good luck Mary.
Kelly I would say I wish your dog would get that hawk but a big Hawk can easily injure a dog. Ideally the hawk will go bother something else but if it is the same one as before not likely. Gun fire seems to scare them.... Now I did not mean to shoot at him

I just feel quite sure this is a typo.

It sure made me giggle though.
It's the Vicodin typing Kathy!

Your blue boy is in the basement in a crate awaiting his ride to the post office in the morning. Michael retrieved him from the roost for me. Isi is going to be a happy rooster in the morning and I suspect Reggie Jr. Will appreciate not having hime try to duke it out between fences. For what it's worth, he's the first one to come running to me when I have treats.

Getting him shipped off and stopping on the way home for a couple of errands will take my mind off my pain and oral surgery on Thursday. The trip to the big city post office is about 45 miles. And, there are a couple of antique malls between here and there too.

Not saying I'm going to stop or anything.

BTW, it was a chuck roast. I could only eat the rice.

Mary, I too am sorry about all your pain. I hope they get your poor mouth figured out soon. You have been in pain WAY to long. I myself have been fighting a infection. I have been in and out of the Doctors office countless times the past few weeks. They have been running endless tesst. I am Exhausted! I have been on a lot of pain killers. I hate those things, they make me so sick. I didn't even know what day it was...LOL. I have had to take some time off work to get better. It really sucks taking time off work and getting nothing done.

Scary incident here yesterday.

My welsummer coop is in my orchard, but all the leaves are off the trees right now. I heard my welsummer rooster raising a racket, so I looked out the window and didn't see ANY hens, but I saw him out there. Then he hopped up into the coop, still squawking. I saw some movement and thought that there was a hen outside, but then it moved funny and I realized it wasn't a chicken.

My dog and I went running up there and that HUGE hawk was hopping around on the ground under the coop. It flew away when my dog got close and she chased it. (good girl) Hopefully it got the picture.

Thank goodness my rooster is smart enough to get all the hens in and then get his own butt in the coop too. (instead of fighting the hawk) I only have adult chickens in that coop, so I doubt that the hawk could have carried them off. The hawk didn't hurt anyone, but it has to be pretty darn hungry to attempt that. I can only hope that it will go away. Just proves to me that it was the right decision to net my other coop. I'm not able to net this one though, due to my fruit trees.
Try 30 Lb test monofilament line strung every foot over that orchard. I ran mine through my pear tree branches. You can see it on my page.So far, NO hawks or eagles trying to get on. They won't risk their wings.

I just stalked the heck out of your profile........I can't find "your page".

Please share the link.

I think this is the picture thedragonlady was referring to. I got it from the pictures on her profile page. Looks like a great solution but I'd be tempted to hang the laundry out!
