Well, I'd use clothespins, Duh.

I still have them drop with clothes pins. Woodland is in a very windy corridor.

It is also a stop on the Great Western Flyway. Lots of pretty birds fly over all the time, going South in the Fall and heading North in the Spring. We should start seeing them heading North again soon.

This is the monofilament. You really don't see it from the ground, but a pilot neighbor of mine says it glitters like crazy from above.That's an 8' fence in the far background. We went from that to the one central pole.The pear trees are on the right. We ran wires between them and strung the line to the post. Then from the large covered run to the post. Lots of Hydrangea bushes too. They are covered in bird netting since they are decideous.Just an extra layer of protection.

I used vinegar to clean the walls in a bathroom this weekend, and the room still smells like a pickle....

I use this and borax to steam clean the carpets. when it gets damp the entire hallway smells like pickles. Mock cleaner then it was getting wiht all teh bought stuff however.

I am back from the dentist. The news is rather devastating. I will see and endodontist this afternoon to find out if doing new root canals on two teeth that already have root canals will solve the pain problem. After spending $8,000.00 two months ago for 11 fillings and 5 crowns I now need 13 crowns, including many on the teeth that were worked on then. The total for this work is $20,000.00

holy......I really hope you get your pain fixed. Chronic pain is such a nightmare, not only the pain but the aniticpation knowing its coming back.

I will, this is the same looking hawk that was getting in my other run and got my babies. I've never seen a hawk this big before. I think it's a red shouldered hawk because it looks exactly like this:

My dog is well trained on going out with me and chasing off critters. Last year she ran off the bobcat on our property. She hears the chickens squawking and she is whining to go out.

my dog barks at me when the chickens freak out . Of course he barks whenever he can, hes a bark o holic. I had him trained to go out and bark for a little while, but he would rather stay warm and bark inside now. Not much use against hawks :/

VERY nice. might try that over silkieland, we have lots of trees there.

woke up with a PAINFUL neck sprain.

Worked from 7:30AM until just after 1PM and then after making my deposit at the bank, I went to the office of one of my patients who is a professional Rolfer. (Deep tissue massage) He spent 2 and a half hours working me over.

I feel SO much better.

I'm going to have to start posting pics of my polish and Icelandics so Kelly can tell me which ones are roos.... I can't afford to be feeding chickens I can't keep. I "think" that at LEAST 4 of my 7 little Icelandics are roos.... so now I'll have to figure out which one of the four I'll keep. The one that I thought would be Drekki III, looks like it will be a pretty little pullet.

I'm praying for Mary's sugery tomorrow and that by this time next week, she'll be feeling MUCH better.

Miss Molly, I hope you've taken the proper antibiotics to get rid of your infection. Get better.

Your blue boy is in the basement in a crate awaiting his ride to the post office in the morning. Michael retrieved him from the roost for me. Isi is going to be a happy rooster in the morning and I suspect Reggie Jr. Will appreciate not having him try to duke it out between fences. For what it's worth, he's the first one to come running to me when I have treats.

Getting him shipped off and stopping on the way home for a couple of errands will take my mind off my pain and oral surgery on Thursday. The trip to the big city post office is about 45 miles. And, there are a couple of antique malls between here and there too.

Not saying I'm going to stop or anything.
