Kathy, it is very apparent that these people are not of good morales. It's good for the babies that they have you to love and nurture them to good health. I'm sorry all of this happened.

Current temp is 7 F....going up to 10 today and down to -3 tonight..........

......and we got a dusting of snow last night before the temp dropped.......

Mary, What a cute dog! He's going to be great company for you!

Off to work for a half-day today........I hope everyone has a great one!!

OMG Kathy I just logged on and saw this and I am in tears. I wondered if they had assisted the hatch because as you know they hatch very slowly and with very little bleeding. How could the breeder do this to you? My heart goes out to you and those sweet babies. Post on the emu thread. Maybe someone can help with the wry neck in emus. I am beyond shocked and saddened. I'll PM my phone number if you need to call. I will be saying prayers for those babies and for you. What a kind thing you did by taking them. I had one of those moments myself today. You all know I am an avid dog hater. Today I learned about Tucker, a severely abused 2 year old Terrier mix who could no longer stay with his foster family. I just picked him up two hours ago. She told me he wouldn't let me near him for probably two weeks. He had me from hello. I can hardly breathe from playing fetch. We have wrestled on the floor. If I sit down he has to be in my lap. She told me not to try to pet him from above his head because he was picked up that way and choked. If I sit down on the couch he jumps up and pushes my elbow out so he can get his head under my arm. He is two and has never had a real home.
Tucker looks like a sweet dog! It looks as though this is a great match! He has a look that could melt butter!

Kathy - looks like the babies are doing well in your care. I hope they continue to do so. This "breeder" (and I use that term loosely) is treating you like you've never done this before.
Kelly they also need good fast drainage so depending on where you have them the soil may be to heavy.
We are on the side of a hill, so they have good drainage. Our soil is clay based though - I mixed bagged soil in with our soil though. I don't remember what kind of soil, but it was recommended from the nursery I bought the plants from.
Awwwww, Tucker loves his new mama!

This is a fabulous story! Love it!
Oh Mary, he is adorable. And it looks like he's made himself quite at home. How did you find out about him? I hope he's a good boy with the chickens, emu's, goats and donkeys.

He is two and has never had a real home.

It looks like he has now! Very cute dog.

Just be very careful with the livestock introductions, terrier heritage and all.

But then, I've been a dog lover forever. Four large indoor dogs all the time. They only go outside to take care of business or if I'm there. They are my pack and I am their leader. Of course, like Sheldon on Big Bang Theory, I always have to tell the Great Dane.................."you're in my spot".

You and I think alike Deb - I was just talking with Mary about the same thing. And I told her poor Jack is going to have a heart attack - being the big baby he is.

Her and Tucker were going out together to feed the animals. (with Tucker on his leash) Waiting to see how it went.

My dog can't see this thread either. She is not allowed on furniture. She has a nice cozy dog bed, but she's not getting up on my couch or my bed. She wouldn't fit on the couch anyway - not with both kids and I on it. They both like to be with mom - I'll take it while I can.

I am just now catching up. My heart broke when I saw those Emu babies. Kathy, I am sure they are in the best hands now! Good luck to you and to those babies.

And Mary, How sweet is that face on Tucker?!?! The picture debs_flock pulled out is my favorite also. He sure does look right at home, don't you think?

Bless you both for taking in these underdogs!
