"Baked chicken treats?"
How does one do that? That sounds perfect for me.... Err, my flock.
As a general rule, I do not cook, so if you could tell me in the "Cooking for Dummies" manner, it would be greatly appreciated.
Please??
Nooooooooooo, this one won't make you hungry.................although my DH always says he wants to eat one and the contractor that was recently here was tempted, LOL It does just smell like a giant frittata when cooking. Now y'all went and made me hungry.
When I have an extreme excess of eggs, I just break them into a 13x9 pan. I use extra eggs, dirty eggs, cracked/broken eggs, old eggs, quail eggs, sometimes shell and all. Just break them into the pan and if little extra bits (shell, mud, ummmmm, other detritus) fall in, I don't worry about it, since it really is for the chickens.
I put the whole pan in the oven at 350 and bake 30-45 minutes until it sets. It's so much easier than scrambling them or something. Just let it cool and cut it into squares. I then walk along my pens and throw a couple of squares to each group of birds. They go NUTS for them. Protein and extra food back to the girls (and boys) that worked so hard to make them. The eggs don't go to waste and it cuts back a bit on the feed bill for 300ish chickens.
Doesn't sound so yummy if you're not a chicken................right? LOL
I suppose I should break down and dry the shells, break them up and feed them back to them, but it just seems easier to open the bag of oyster shell.
