I wasn't around for the Dar experience last year......heard and have imagined but waiting for the real thing!

Tucker went missing this morning while I was busy making buttermilk biscuits. I checked all the usual places but he wasn't there. Yesterday I piled up all the blankets from the living room because guests were coming and would need to sit down. I threw them in a heap on the day bed in my office. Bingo, there he was!

cute
Forgot to mention, I candled my dark eggs last night. They hatch in one week. Out of two dozen, only one dozen are developing and not necessarily the ones I wanted! Arggh. These were the eggs that took a week to get here via Priority mail. The seller had asked me how they were doing. He may just sell me some day olds. That would work!
mine are hatching now

My nephew from Utah got in last night.

This morning, I cleaned, x-ray'd and filled two teeth and then he finished the job his electrician dad started.

In January his dad put in an underground electrical line with a box into my feed/garden shed.

I no longer need the EXTREMELY LONG extension cord that ran along the top of my home to the top of the shed and into the chicken coop.

He put lights in both the shed and coop and electrical outlets in the coop and shed.

The AC, the light with a timer, a fan and the lights that go to my Laree brooder and grow out pens are all plugged into the coop. He also put flood lights on the outside of my garden/feed shed so when we put on the flood lights from the back porch and the shed, it can almost be like daylight in our backyard at night. I could mow lawn, pick out weeds, clean pool, (I've already got a light in the pool)... we could have a party.

I'm bushed, (I helped him run all of the wires and held a flashlight for him) but I only work until 2PM tomorrow and then I'm off until Monday. I've got to make a run to the feed store for FlockRaiser, EggMaker, scratch and shavings. I already have chick starter..

Nice! Got the electricity to make things easier for ya! Good.

Tyler told me feed is on sale this next week. $2. off per bag, plus his discount. I ordered a pallet of it.

AW, pie and ducks. Wow.

Love the electrical work Dar! Makes things so much easier. Michael is running water to the pastures for me. Right now we have hoses all over the place. It is inconvenient to fill chick waterers too. The hose for the auto waterers (Chicken Fountains) runs all the way up the driveway and behind the house before it connects to the waterers. t will be much nicer when we have more faucets.

Should have some news on the Tucker front today. Michael is on his way to deal with the police report they filed on him. We first need to order a copy and see what it says. Then we will have to address it. Our lawyer is supposed to speak with their lawyer some time today. She sent a snarky email to our lawyer telling him she didn't give any weight to his assessment of us as fit custodians for Tucker. We'll see what happens. I am, of course, a nervous wreck. This is like an episode of the Twilight Zone. A good deed turns into a nightmare.
