Stella's Social Club

Kola (my Icelandic hen) should have some more babies tonight. A couple anyway.
She has 2 in this group.....

The pretty one in front in the first picture is one. The other one I did not get a good picture of.

Back row, reddish-brown with eye liner is the other one (I think).

I love that late evening in July when the sun goes down but it is not completely dark and the first flash appears out of the corner of your eye - then more flickers across the lawn as the darkness comes. We used to catch fireflies for just a few minutes then try to follow them as they flew away. There is something magical about them.

Betcha he got done extra quick with all that help!

Mike had to work on the outside water faucet today. Thankfully, he had a little help.

Oh lordy, I have had that "help" and it is no picnic. Michael just finished installing a faucet by the gate to their pasture. His ears look like a cage fighter in the MMA!

Last week the former owners of my house stopped by. they shared some pictures and history with us. This was once the "bunkhouse" for the 12 children of the wealthy Schlage (lock sets) family. They owned most of the land around here. They had a mansion across the road from where this house sits and it burned to the ground, leaving just the bunkhouse. We have met people who lived here including the family who bought it in 1974 and finished the second floor. They brought us some pictures. I love this before and after.
