Quote: Uh, NO! I have enough roosters of my own thank you.

Sad Morning, Glad Morning here. Our Midget White tom killed/crushed one of my Icelandic Hens, so he's going into his own pen to fatten up. No more springtime free ranging toms here. On the plus side, we had a doe kid this morning, one doeling

and 1 buckling. The second kid really surprised us because she was not very large, if it wasn't for the udder forming I would never have believed she was pregnant. We have one more kidding this year, she's due tomorrow.
Sorry about your hen. I have heard that that can happen if the Toms try to mate with the hen.

Congrats on the kids! You have a lot of goats. I want pictures.

I have a broody. She is one of my project girls, not quite seven months old yet! I may give her the olive eggers from the incubator since I don't need anymore project chicks. If she doesn't do well it's ok because I just bought the olive eggers to have a few for my layer flock.

As if we don't have enough holes along the fence line already, Isi and the project roo got in a hole digging contest this morning. Why can't they just have a crow-off like everyone else?

Hooray for the babies! Sorry for the hen :( I guess you need more turkey girls to keep him busy!

Just stick a couple different breeds together in a little pen, and there ya go! Secret project! :D

Uhhh... That would make my whole flock a "special project," wouldn't it?

You also have to have a vision of what your goal is.

I have a project, not keeping it a huge secret. Violet Laced Wyandottes. Basically a Silver Laced only blue instead of black.

Funny Mike. Sheesh, I'm doomed thanks to Mary and Kathy and their "rumors".

Is it really a rumor if they are only telling the truth? It is more like the stuff of legends!

:weee  that's great Kathy. Hatch out a bunch more ,lots of us want some of the F-4 chicks!!!!!!!

I want some of the F-2 buff girls too. :-)
Well, sure! That's how alot of folks start! Chocolate is the thing now, ya know. Stick a chocolate (orp is where it comes from) bird with anything and call it a pure bred chocolate ________ (fill in the blank)!

Isn't that the truth. I would rather have really nice blacks, with beautiful green sheen.

It took alot of hatching to get those! 200 eggs and I got - umm, I think 6. Buff Barred - all female (as expected. No males expected in this combo).

I have those F1s penned and am not hatching from them (not enough room!)... Do you want some of those eggs?

I love my Black Australorps, my blue orps, my buff orps, my Buckeyes, my bantam Barnie, my Salmon Fav, my Barred Rocks, my Wellie, my Dellies, my EEs, my WCB Polish, my bantam Dark Cornish, my Icelandics, my House Silkie and the outside Silkie Roo (which surprised me because I was so "anti-silkie") my.... All of 'em. And all the mutts. The Easter hatch has provided some Speckled Sussex and more Orps to throw into the mix. I am very partial to the BAs for that exact reason, though. It's why I have a flock of Cayuga ducks - I love that black with green sheen, blue flashes and purple glints. :love

Wow...3%. Ummm I would have to get 100 eggs for 3. Well at least they would all be girls! :th I guess I better pass, but if I am ever able to visit I will let you load me up. ;)

My daughter wants Cayugas, but when we went all they had was Khakis. I am still on the look out, for them at the feed stores.
