LOVE the video and the music!

All 15 chicks have been under broody mama for about 90 minutes.

I'm going back out to check on them again soon. I think putting them under just after dark is perfect as it gives them all night to get used to one another. Then I'll put the remaining eggs in the pet carrier, then the chicks, then the mama and I'll add a waterer and a little feeder and pray they stay together on the eggs in the back of the pet carrier. It's worked before, I hope it works for this broody. She is a Blue Copper Olive egger and when she started sitting on the golf balls she was large... 3 weeks on the nest and she has lost quite a bit of weight.

DS#1 turned 25 today. Dang I'm getting old.

I built a little ramp for the chicks to get back into the coop. They couldn't jump up to the pop door opening. They are safely tucked under mama tonight. I LOVE broodies. Amazing.

Hi everyone! Love the pictures, stories, and videos! Keep 'em coming!

I have been sick in bed. I finally gave in and went to the doctor today. Good news is - I don't have bronchitis, like I thought I did.

I have pneumonia, and a cracked rib from coughing. To complete the diagnoses, there is a suspicious spot on my lung they want to investigate.

I currently have ZERO eggs incubating. And ya know what - - - I think I am done......

Tyler is moved into his own place. Brittney has moved into her place. I just want to feel better, so I can suffer through this empty nest syndrome I have heard so much about.

Oh Kathy. Rest and get better. Pneumonia is horrible. I hope the spot is nothing serious. Enjoy the empty incubator and nest!

Mary fill in the holes under the fence before rascal chickie is NO more. You need a wire skirt under the perimeter of run to keep chicks IN(as opposed to keeping preds out)

Kathy hope you will be feeling better soon and spot is insignificant. Lost 10 lbs. when I had pneumonia - only good thing about it.

And to complete the most miserable week - We got snow last night ! ! !
It has been raining, raining, raining, snowing, raining, raining.....

High of 36 today. Forecast: 49 Saturday (and rain continues), 60 Sunday (and rain continues), Monday 68 with a bit of sun! (however, Wednesday, the rain is to return).
