Yes, you're dating yourself......sad but true that there is a whole generation that only knows "film" as the yucky coating on something liquid......

I checked on my broody Icelandic girl yesterday. There were gnats around her. So, I picked her up to check her over. There are now only 9 eggs there. She started with 12 or 13. Is she eating them? I found a couple shells, and I found one black chick crushed in the shell. What's up with this?

I've had situatuions where that happens to my communal broodies. The eggs usually break when someone else tries to share the nest box. When one breaks the others glue themselves to the hen then fall off and crack on the floor when she gets out. They disappear quickly when the flock finds them so I usually don't know it happened until I count eggs and find the hen with sticky belly.

I LOVE that garden egg chair. And the MIB one too. The MIB one looks more comfy, but the garden one is just too cool!
