I made a strenuous argument to the then forming cream leg bar club that we should work with what we have and not adopt the English standard ( but them I loves me a floppy comb) with the limited genes we have we should be broadening not cutting down the diversity.
I didn't get any replies however. I bet they will have to change the standard and we will have upset people all around

Luckily I am posting this here so I should not get slammed too much....
Why not go back to the records on how the Cream Legbars were made and figure out what was messed up. Breed back to the sources that are missing or compromised. There should be a working group of Breeders doing this and every couple of years they can share chicks or hatching eggs from each persons best efforts.
That corrects to whatever standard is used and keeps genetic vigor going. It will take a lot of work, but my suspicion is that the CLs are not that good any where in the world currently. A lot of breeds are like that now. It seems like a lot was lost in WWII.
I was told they were 2yrs old but I'm not sure i was going to give them another month to see if they will lay but i was checking to see if i should get rid of them or are they done laying
