Stella's Social Club

They are ABSOLUTELY gorgeous Kathy. Major eye candy.

Have I ever told any of you, I am bat crap crazy about chickens?

It even scares me.

I truly should live on a farm.... still trying to convince my wife I need to buy the property to the south of us. Not happening.
I need a new receptionist that WORKS... once that happens, my wife may give in.

Here is my Ida with her five chicks. There are two browns... one with a white breast, a small light chipmunk and two blondies... I imagine those came from Cloud's eggs. I think the browns came from Rose's eggs and perhaps the light chipmunk came from Ida or Whitney. The only two that I am certain that the roo was frisky with were Cloud and Whitney, and of course, Icelandics are like a box of chocolates, you never know what you are going to get.
She is very pretty

Do you think this is a broken wing?  She walks fine, and eats fine, but her wing just hangs there. I did not notice this before today.

I have had bard rocks before but, they looked nothing like your. ...Looking at your make me want some.. Absolutely spectacular...
Sorry about her wing. I have never had one with a broken wing. :( I hope she heals fast...

Very clever neighbor.

We took the remaining 9 ducks, 1 extra rooster, and the 2 broad breasted turkeys to the processor yesterday, will pick them up this afternoon. The DW spared the Midget Whites and a young pencil palm, so they will be over wintered and used for breeding.

Kathy - love the BR's, they are stunning! Love how all the young Icelandics lined up in the first picture. Too funny. As for the broken wing issue, I've never experienced it before. Can she move the wing at all? Could it be mareks?

That Ditto picture is hilarious!

We've got sunshine too! I am going to finish my brooder project before the eggs hatch tomorrow. Molly I have managed to collect eight eggs for you if you want them for the NYD hatch-a-long. Let me know if you want them and when you can come and get them. I think I'll be buying eating eggs for a while until the days get longer. That's ok with me. I think.

I saw my little blue Icelandic cockerel mate the Miss Polaris look-a-like this morning! The girls from that hatch are starting to get red but I doubt anyone is going to start laying with the short daylight. I could be wrong. They are Icelandic's after all!
