My kitchen aid was a wedding present years ago, and I love it but wish that it tilted. I think the new ones tilt back. That would be a feature to look for if you are interested in that.

I think mine will last forever because it seems so durable and full of quality - I have the pasta maker attachment, the grain grinder attachment, and the shredder attachment.

I love my Kitchen Aide mixer, my son actually bought it for me for Christmas one year.

But Kelly, you're saying that wrong.................isn't it Monkey Ward's? Wait, that's really showing my age, at least that's what my Mom always called them.

Hey Molly check out the new front door for my brooder house! I finally convinced Michael that it would work. So we took off the solid door that opened in, ripped the screen out of the screen door, replaced it with a piece of painted plywood and now we have a sturdy door that opens out! I was even able to fit another cabinet inside. Look at all the locks I put on it! Ha.Ha raccoons.

I made pumpkin spice cupcakes (with cream cheese frosting) and root beer cupcakes last night for the Boy Scout's Christmas party. They were a hit! Still have some pumpkin cupcakes left over.


Jason, you were right about my predator issue being a hawk. I went out yesterday to collect eggs and they were all squawking. I saw a HUGE hawk fly off one of the posts. I don't know what kind of hawk it was, but it had a salmon colored breast. Anyway - with the netting up, no chicken dinner for him!

My first one tilted back.  My current one, you lower the bowl.

Just make sure you can pour ingredients in it without a problem. I had to return one that, I guess for safety reasons, you could not poke stuff in the bowl without lifting the top. That was so aggravating. I am an adult and I am quite capable of not jabbing things into the beaters or twisting my hair into them. Some of these safeguards are rediculous.

The smaller ones tilt. The bigger ones lift up.

I need the bigger one to make three loaves of bread at a time. The newer ones have a plastic gear. Work it hard the first year. If it breaks, they will send you a new one with a metal gear.

Great warranty service too!

With my old one, I could scrape the edge of the bowl with a spatula without having to stop the blade. (bad I know, but hey - I didn't ruin too many spatulas) My new one I can't do that without it catching on the beater. I have to stop it and scrape, then start it again. It was probably made that way because of people like me.

Only when I can take it somewhere. I didn't lose 25 pounds by baking, that's for sure.

The pumpkin cupcakes had no oil in them either. I like that. It had buttermilk instead for the moisture.

I'm glad the netting works.
