Mary, I have had show dogs for 22 years and understand the issues you are facing.
Take a deep breath or two and hold your ground. Do not get angry at the foster people but do not allow them to take Tucker from you. Do not let Tucker alone in the garden so he cannot be picked up or stolen.
You have a good case on your side in court demonstrating how much Tucker loves you.
I would suggest that you write a letter to the foster organization/ rescue people itemizing the sequence of events and the reason for return if the first dog and why you are keeping Tucker.
Without upset write a letter that will (would) demonstrate to a judge in court your rightful and responsible action and the unreasonable actions of the foster people.
If you wish you can call me and I will help put you at ease with creating a truthful letter that will support you. I am not a lawyer just some dog experience.

Eva 2012 what breed do you have? I used to breed/show Cockers many years ago. Alot of dog people on BYC.

Thanks Eva, we were going to do that but the animal attorney instructed us not to do it. The ball is in their court at this time. He said anything we put in writing will be twisted to use against us later. So for now I am going to follow his advice. But I appreciate your concern.

Ahh, I showed Iggies. I had BW & BOS at the National Specialty in Santa Barbara about 30 years ago (I'm old), also trained an Iggie to track.

Ok, good advice. Make sure no one can "accidentally" steal your dog ( I have seen that SEVERAL times).
And have a list of sequence of events : make a log of any calls, harassment, threats, etc. Or simply do not pick up their calls.
