That is so cool! Both the broodies and about Marty. The silkiebators I hatched last year have so far failed to live up to their broody hype.

I am in broodies madness here. I had 2 more go this week, one being my hatchery Australorp who's never looked at an egg.

There are broodie silkies in every coop on every surface.. I am down to one hen laying eating eggs...


I'm sorry about the loss of your favorite chicken Kelly. Ee's are such characters!

Eeek, a BEAR! Fingers crossed they stay away from my place, the fences would never stand up one. Although I think the coops are safe.

So sorry to hear about your hen, she looked like one of my favorite EE's called Chicken Little who passed unexpectedly last year.

We had a Chicken Little once. She was a victim to a hawk attack. It couldn't carry her off, but it killed her.

Our property is fenced. I'm thinking it's a juvenile bear, as it could easily climb our fence.

I have a question, and BTW you guys weren't kidding that you all hang here!

Anyways, I clicked subscribe but cant figure out where it puts feeds on IE10??? I never subscribed to a blog before so do I need to set something up or is it just hiding somewhere?

You guys are NOT funny. I don't wanna bear. Go away bear. (hopefully it's a juvenile and will go away) I'm so thankful it didn't try to go for my coops, just my trash - or rather the Boy Scouts trash.

Mary - looks like a boy and 2 girls?

Kelly do you get them during a certain season??? or is it sporadic? and is it safe for you to have a campfire in the evenings? DH worries here and said he is nuts, we are safe here in PA!
