I candled last night and noticed an odd egg. I couldn't spot the air cell at first- then I found it. It is on the side of the egg nearer to the pointy end. This is an egg from my young Isbar trio, so I really don't want to lose it. Do I continue to incubate as normal and hope for the best? Or do I turn the egg pointy end up and hope it can make enough room to hatch through the air cell? I know it only has a slim chance either way. :( Due to hatch Sunday May 26.

22 eggs in lockdown. Wonder how many I'll get. I didn't ever use the spot check. Couldn't find it. My other Olive Egger is going to be happy to have chicks... I HOPE.

I just upped it to where it was the last time I hatched to 100.5 which kept it at 99.5 according to the spot check.

Last candle showed lots of movement and in the Aloha's, lots of blood veins. I'm thinking they are a tad behind and I may not see a chick until Sunday.

One of the eggs that were shipped with some of the eggs I have, hatched under a friends broody and then the broody proceeded to kill it.... but that would be like 3 days early unless the egg sent was already developing?

I'm such a worry wart. I upped the humidity to 63%. (had it at 30% for the first 18 days)
Should I up it further?

I need help from you Brinsea experts.
63% is fine Dar. I usually start in that range, then when they start popping like popcorn, the humidity doesn't spike too high.

I would put the pointy end up if that's where the air sac is. And you'll need to watch it for hatch, it may pip the wrong end.

Diva - It's not really her fault. I was worried that she would crush the eggs, she's HUGE. She is a first time broody, and she doesn't quite know what to do. Today is hatch day and nothing from the other eggs. I'll candle them this afternoon and see what's up. If they are gone, then I'll probably get her a couple feed store chicks to raise. If she doesn't do well with them, then she'll never have the chance to be broody again.

The crushed chick died during the night.

Hm... you mean for all of incubation and don't turn it? I have a Sportsman cabinet incubator with egg trays, so up or down is my only option. I could lay it up next to the water reservoir but then I couldn't turn it to keep the air cell up?

I'd put it on it's side.
