Quote: I was only going for 2 chicks, I swear!

If my Orp wasn't so heavy, maybe she wouldn't crush her eggs with babies in them.

I tried breaking her and she would not be deterred. And she's been broody for over 2 1/2 months.

So my last ditch attempt for her is to sneak her some babies. I'll move her tonight and put them under her. I just hope, hope, hope, she will be a good mama and accept them.

But yeah, probably not a good thing to know their deliveries come in on Thursdays.

I'm going to be a nervous wreck until morning. My Orp was not happy to be moved and tried to pace the doorway. She settled down in a different area of my broody area. (outside the nest box) so I let her be there, and I put the babies under her. Hopefully by morning she decides to be a mommy to them and doesn't squish them.

Bok bok!!! - think I found me a home ive raised a pirate chicken person who rode on my shoulder and survived two murderer attempts. After the fox got her I'm working on a bra baby...yep its my crazy world!!!

Apparently I fell asleep. - Four hours later(now) I came down to the kitchen to find my quart and a half of marshmellow/chocolate ice cream lukewarm & drinkable.

If it hadn't been so warm (80 in the kitchen) I would have finished it off with a big straw. Sadly I realized it was out too long to salvage so I just watched it go down the kitchen sink. I just bought that this morning. This proves I don't intentionally fall asleep. &^$*($#@. What is happening to me???

Mary Deer LOVE roses
I still need to get you some from work

The Lady Banks rose is a rapid grower. It only blooms in the spring though. The Nite-Guard solar lights are working well for me. I have over 60 Hydrangeas of various types , and deer love them. No nibbles for 2 years now , but the deer are happily munching my neighbor's garden, so I know that they are still here.

Diva - sorry you are feeling down.

On broody news, I'm so mad I could spit.

I found my English Orp pacing the area this morning. Babies are fine, but she was completely ignoring them. I slipped the babies under my production red and it looks like she is going to take them. And where is the Orp, you ask? Back on the nest, sitting. She can sit until the cows come home. I will probably find her another home as well. This is just ridiculous.

Soooooooooooooooooooooo, Mary, ol buddy ol pal. My production red has 2 eggs under her. I think only one is going to hatch though - would you be willing to finish it off with your eggs? I REALLY don't want to hatch a lone chick. It's a blue barnevelder egg.
