I've kept the nail cut as short as possible as it grows to try to keep the edge as close to the bad parts as I can. As the bad parts come to the edge, I try to keep it cleaned out as deeply as possible so the Oxine can reach as far under the nail as I can get it. Then I just mix Oxine 1/4 teas to a quart of water. Every night I would put about a tablespoonful in a cup and soak the nail in the Oxine mix for about 5 minutes. The discolored part where the fungus is changes to a normal color almost immediately wherever it was exposed to the Oxine. Each day the discolored part got smaller. Literally I had the fungus continually growing out for about 18 mos. I've been working on this with Oxine for less than 6 mos (maybe 4) and it's almost completely grown out and the nail looks normal where it's new. I have less than a 1/4 inch of nail to grow out before it will be normal.

My doctor wrote in my record what I was doing when I told him about it. He said he probably wouldn't be telling his other patients. I think he's going to change his tune, LOL

I will definitely tell her. She's even tried that super expensive pill for treating it and it didn't work. Thanks!

Well, we official split the emus up. The chasing and fighting was over the top, literally! Now there is a fence splitting the pasture in half. The goats and an emu pair share the bottom half and an emu pair share the upper half. This should restore order. If Louis starts fighting with Chica too, which he hasn't thus far, then he will move back down and she'll have a big pasture all to herself! It has been that way anyway since she's had to hang out in a corner to keep safe. The temporary fence is up while we soak the ground to be able to get a shovel in.

I hope it works our for the Emu!

I hope it works too!

Michael has an entourage!

And you think digging a hole with chickens is hard!

Someone released the brake on the Polaris and it rolled back and knocked the fence over. Hmmm.

Sweet Louis is taking one for the team and bunking with Chica. He took it well.

Oh, and I made chicken and waffles for dinner. The waffles had onion, jalapeño, and bacon. The maple syrup was infused with crushed black pepper.

Delish!

I went out. Since the oldest is at summer camp, the youngest and I went out for some just the 2 of us time. We went to dinner at a Mexican restaurant. I had chips and salsa, Mahi Mahi fish tacos, a really good margarita, and dessert came with dinner. It was ice cream with Mexican chocolate, coconut and Kailua liqueur.

I'm stuffed, and I still have a fish taco for lunch tomorrow.

Why are they so mean to Chica - I thought the girls and guys had paired off and everything was fine. I think the trouble started after that video you posted of Chica displaying her charms. She was gorgeous and Loca had a hissy fit. Stuart better be good - where does he think he will find a nicer girl emu that Chica? Maybe he just wants to be a bachelor with no responsibilities.

Exactly Diva! She got the best of the boys for sure. I am anxious to see how it goes in the long term Michael dug the holes today and will set the posts tomorrow. He is using lodge poles on the ends and "T" posts down the line. He put a gate up today.

I have been reinforcing the wire panels on the ranch fence. I bought galvanized plumbers tape and I am cutting it into 2 inch segments and securing the wire with it via self drilling screws.

I have used ten feet so far and have only done about eight panels. It is going to take me awhile to get it done. But, it has to be done. Every day they were pulling a 4x8 piece of wire mesh off and bending it into a pretzel. WE thought we were done with fencing! Michael even bit the bullet and bought a fence puller at Tractor Supply. He has been using a come-a-long and a t-post for years. It is an accident waiting to happen.
