I love the....................."yeah right, give it your best shot"

In my pasture, I've got a little upstart alpaca male, Hershey that has been trying to breed all the girls since he was about a week old.

Last week I saw him and Honey happily in the cush position. Saw him and Posey the same way recently. The only one I haven't seen him have his way with is his mother Flower.

Naughty boy!

Breakfast Gems | Chicken & Jalapeño Waffles

There’s a better way to enjoy breakfast than a cold bowl of cereal and some frozen pancakes. This recipe for Chicken & Waffles is a great way to spruce up the breakfast selection which can become monotonous and boring real quick.
Chicken & Waffles is a favorite breakfast combination amongst many. The recipe calls for boneless chicken breasts with the skin still on. The chicken is fried up in sale & pepper seasoned flour. The waffles are made from handmade waffle batter seasoned with all kinds of things from bacon to minced jalapeño peppers. The waffles are fried up in the waffle maker until golden brown while the chicken is fried to perfection. Once finished, the chicken is drained and served on top of the waffles. Throw some syrup on this combination and you’re good to go. Checkout the full recipe list on Buck ‘n Run Ranch and give this a try for breakfast.

If you are of the belief that meat grows on Styrofoam trays or you are anti-meat, don't look any further.

Today I "processed" two birds. They weren't real big, but I'm cutting down on mouths to feed and mouths to crow. We only have two people to feed, so young and tender works for me. The two birds were hatched at the same time and were a Plymouth Rock and a Legbar. The dressed weights were within 1 3/4 ozs of each other, 2 3/4 pounds each. The PR seemed much more tender than the Legbar (firmness of the meat).

This is the part I found interesting...................the ahem..................manliness of the two birds, PR on the left, Legbar on the right.

And waste not, want not.............................makes the BEST broth. (and no, they weren't both one legged birds, those are just from the PR)
