I feel your pain . I pre-bought a dz chicks from someone on byc at easter. She didn't want to ship over summer and now she informed me she is no longer comfortable shipping chicks.

That was a special conversation.....
Ask her if she's comfortable Issuing a refund? OMG what are people thinking>

Well my plans for re-building my Cream Legbar flock with properly colored birds is over. I have been waiting for replacement eggs from GFF for the ones that got left in the PO for five days and didn't hatch. They keep promising to ship six replacements but there is always some excuse why they didn't. I sent a snarky email yesterday then received a phone call stating that they shipped out 6 eggs, two from each import line! I was supposed to get all from the 2013 line. That is what I paid dearly for in the first place! Then she went on to tell me that in order to have enough to ship, she had to take three eggs out of the fridge!

I give up! I am not meant to have Cream Legbars!

The curse of shipped eggs continues............
What? It it because of too much demand with GFF? They do not like criticism - recently the Ayam Cemani thread was closed for staff review likely do to a complaint. It was reopened quickly though because nothing bad was posted there--just some stuff about importing rules in different countries.

On the Heritage Large Fowl thread there have been a lot of posts bashing people that ship hatching eggs and many are of the opinion that shipping live chickens is a better way to go. Honestly I can purchase and hatch a lot of chicks for the two to three hundred dollars it would cost to get a breeding trio to my place....Pre buying is a bad idea. I did that and the seller finally shipped hatching eggs 6 months later.

I hope you get a refund!

I agree Ron. Pre-orders are risky. Easy for me to say.

Every order is risky.

Mary, i only have one each of CLs, but the girl (other than being uncrested) has very good cream coloring in the hackle, and the boy is 16 weeks & looking good so far (both came from eggs from Deann):

I've been waffling about whether to keep him, since my hope is to focus more on campines, isbars, and/or birchen marans (too many already), so perhaps we could work something out?

Laura, I set Isbar eggs yesterday so I should have some chicks in three weeks.

I have given up trying to get the correct color cream Legbars. GFF set us all up for failure by importing the wrong birds, twice!

Shame on me for spending so much money trying to fix a mistake they caused. Stick a fork in me. I am done. I will hatch the eggs I got today and use the pullets for layers. If they hatch at all!

I made a strenuous argument to the then forming cream leg bar club that we should work with what we have and not adopt the English standard ( but them I loves me a floppy comb) with the limited genes we have we should be broadening not cutting down the diversity.

I didn't get any replies however. I bet they will have to change the standard and we will have upset people all around
