Yum Ron! I'm always looking for great bread recipes. If you haven't tried it, Mary's foccaccia bread is fantastic! It's a regular in our house now.

Linda - your restaurant adventures sounds like fun! With kids, we don't eat out very often. Plus, if I'm going to eat out and pay a fortune for a meal, they had better cook it better than I can!

I need to try the focaccia bread, Thanks for the tip!

I agree about going to restaurants. That is one of the reasons we make our own pizza. It is convenient but disappointing when it is something that I can make better at home...

Irony for the situation: we were gone picking up our new flock/future goat protector when the dog snuck into the yard and attacked. Isn't he adorable though? We've named him Merlin.

Oh my, how precious. Sorry about the dog/predator issue.

And that is exactly my point, folks. I cannot make anything as good as what I eat elsewhere. Well, unless I started snacking from garbage bins, perhaps. I simply do not cook. I can and have cooked in the past, but only when married. Three tries at being Mrs.Suzie Homemaker; cooking is not worth the effort when it's just me. Nor are there any MacGyver genes active in me. Since 1995, if I couldn't microwave it, mix it in one bowl and eat it cold, slather something from a jar onto some nice purchased bread or a flour tortilla, I didn't prepare it. I ate a LOT of doctored & enhanced ramen noodles, boxed or frozen entres (Budget Gourmet and Michellina's are my friends), and had my favorite fast food places scoped out wherever I moved. I have also taken advantage of meals at friends' houses. HHandbasket has been providing me with dinner sometimes once a week since I moved up here - she IS a certified Kitchen MacGyver! In the past three years, she has actually gotten me to try and LIKE several foods I previously hated or refused to try. I have only started taking meals at local eateries (by myself) in the past six months. I have few expensive vices, having quit smoking again seven days ago. Now using an electronic cigarette to provide me with nicotine, so I think the only real competition with my other vice (CHICKENS, of course) is eating out. Mostly at The Pub. ;) So I drool at all the food photos and recipes, copying only the very most simple ones. I love them!

I am more of a follow the recipe cook. My Oldest is a MacGyver. When she was in High School, she would come home from school and make pies, including the crust, without a recipe and they were very tasty.

I am a follow the recipe, DW considers recipes suggestions. Drives me crazy. We both can cook, but sometimes, we'll sacrifice quality to go out so we don't have to do dishes. No dish washer here.

I made this for dinner.

Cute dog! Jeeze Rinda I would have to be institutionalized if I hate to wait like that.

Recipes sound good Ron!

I am sooooooo tired. Worked on a craft project much of the day and blogged. Tomorrow Kelly is going to meet me at Tractor Supply so I can borrow her son's muscle to get my 50# bags off the shelf. They moved the emu food to the highest shelf and I literally have to grab a corner and pull the bags off into the floor then pick them up. Michael will be here on the other side to take them out of the car. I still have lots of sutures and shouldn't be lifting.

Kelly, bring me some popcorn. I have been beating the Cub Scouts off with a stick at the Holiday Market!

It was good Ron, two Prilosec good!

I have been decorating the front porch for Autumn. I got a deal on the sign at TJMaxx. Then Michael noticed today that the "i" is missing. I guess that is why it was at TJMaxx! I hope the missing 'i" doesn't freak Linda out too much.

I need to buy a bale of hay tomorrow. I may fill the back of the wagon with hay. Who knows what I'll do.

I made the screen today. Still have more to do. I just realized the teal pillow needs to go on the other chair.

I can't make many of the recipes I see, simply cuz I ain't never even heard a half the ingredients 'afore! Ya know what I'm asayin'??? I see those words and I just skip right on out of that recipe! If I don't know what the heck it is, I sure can't cook it! I wouldn't even know where to go shop for it!

focaccia bread?
Ciabatta rolls?
Lemongrass rice?
penne pasta?
tilapia?
Queso Fresco?
Cotija cheese?
Basmati rice?

Seriously though, I know there alot of folks just like me that don't try recipes with words or food never before in our vocabulary!
