i posted this in the Nor-Cal thread too, but since there seem to be a lot of videos in this thread -- here's one from this afternoon, sitting by the coops...

(i need to remember to hold the phone/camera horizontally next time...)
Nice video. Your Birchen Marans boy seems to be limping?

Hatch day is this afternoon for my wellies. I woke up to a pip! Let the hatching begin!

Kathy I am so sorry you aren't getting the problem with the granite fixed! Leave it to a man to trade granite for a tractor! Get what you ordered! Where's the custom are service? No where, anymore!

Still, $3000 is a lot of money to hate what you look at every day. I agree that you have to stand your ground. They're being irresponsible and lazy. Funny that this morning, they were talking about granite countertops emitting radon gas, some more than others. Ain't that a bucket of cold water?

Mary,
I think I am blind or something..... I can not find the search button on your blog. I am looking for that recipe for chili.

Never mind - I found the recipe. I still can not find the search button though.

I ordered quartz. I wonder what they say about that?

As you probably know the basic difference is that granite is natural stone taken right out of the earth, polished, and cut into slabs. Quartz products are made of real stone also, but in combination with man-made products, so you get the hardness and beauty of real stone, with the consistency and durability of man-made products.

I was told (and read) that granite is a delicate surface that is susceptible to heat damage, acidic damage, and is fragile.

That is the reason I went with the more expensive quartz. This quartz that I ordered (Silestone) is advertised as this:

You probably don't have the same deal with quartz, but it was weird about the granite. Heard that on The Doctors show. I never wanted granite, personally, but I might have gotten quartz if the insurance company would have paid for it. Alas, formica is still in my kitchen, but in pictures, some people think it's granite. They do look nicer these days.

yes, i'm keeping an eye on it -- he's ginormous, & so may have hurt himself trying to fly too high & then landing hard... also a big sweetheart, and getting more gorgeous each day...

Caught this posting and have to ask , where did you get your Birchens? I am just now starting to get girls with markings. Originals had very little if any. My roos, purchased as chicks, had copper that I'm now working out, but it is now showing in some of the new pullets. The one roo I did keep has a crooked toe. His son though has very nice feathered feet and color. I have no pictures of him.
