Is spellcheck driving you crazy? I have to read my posts over and over to find them. I typed silestone about 15 times yesterday and it kept changing it to milestone. Roo gets changed to too. Beachy gets changed to be achy.

It is driving me nuts!

Just posting this was a pain!
Spell as you go does not work on my PC with Chrome. I do get squiggly red under lines but right clicking does not get spelling suggestions--just a paste option.

I do love to read auto corrected post though--Chiquita has some very funny posts sometimes.

The one that drives me crazy (since it's a major breed for me and I type it a lot), Campines ALWAYS changes to campiness. Why the heck it always wants to add an S, I don't know. Unless it thinks I'm very "campy"!

New Give-a-way on my blog for the book Chickens in the Road. I am giving away four copies!

Dilema here: I locked down my last hatch for the year today. I am trying to replenish my Isbar flock since re-homing the egg eaters. (the problem still persists in that coop occasionally) I found of the three Isbar eggs, two were late quitters leaving me only viable one Isbar. All six of the project eggs are fine! I have ten fresh Isbar eggs saved. Shall I do another hatch? Should I just forget about it? I have one Isbar roo, two hens and two pullets. I wanted one roo to to six hens.

What to do? What to do?

I have way too many chickens now. Just trying to reestablish the Isbar flock after getting rid of the egg eaters and bringing in some breeds for eating eggs. I am thinking about getting out of the hatching egg end of it all together. I don't want to keep buying the latest, greatest in order to sell hatching eggs for more than just a few dollars a dozen. I think my house is situated in a pretty good spot for selling eating eggs and the surplus I can sell to the feed store. I have the CA egg handler's permit that they require. I want to give that a try in the Spring. I have an on-going project, and another in mind, so I may get back in the hatching egg business eventually, but for now I think I am going to stop selling hatching eggs. My chicken plans are always in flux so I may change my mind at any moment but this is what my heart and head are saying this morning.

You are like a meth pusher with your eggs!

People really go crazy for the Olive colored eggs when you sell them.

Thanks Ron, that's what I am hoping. There are two other egg sellers on my street so business is tight. There are only 144 houses in the Ranchos. I own the first house in the ranchos so most people drive by everyday if they don't go in the back way. I am going to try it anyway. One guy has his teenage daughters selling eggs and they deliver. That may be steep competition. I want to offer prettier eggs and put those girls out of business.

Not really.

There is nothing wrong with good competition. I hope they sell better up there than in Capay Valley. I can sell eggs for good prices in Davis but not Esparto....
