The French Toast looks good, Mary, but I am really skeptical of that Pretzel bun thing that Wendy's keeps advertising, and I suppose that is your version of it (which is probably even better). The pretzel buns look hard and unappetizing to me. Doesn't seem like it could be soft to bite into, but guess it would have to be. Your photo, of course, is beautiful, as always! Guess you'd have to be a huge pretzel fan to want it in the first place and I'm really not so much.

WHOOPPEE Mike you guys did it!! Are you going to special her or breed her?
hu.gif
Yes and Yes. She's just 19 months old, this breed isn't breed until at least 2 years of age. So I will special her until goat kidding starts here (first kids due 2/9, +/- 5 days)

And pretzel bun chicken sandwiches.

I made chicken sandwiches yesterday too, but mine was just leftover roasted polish slapped between two pieces of soft white bread with mayo.

Yours may be a bit fancier

I'd have to agree on that one, I haven't seen the appeal. First, I don't care for pretzels, maybe the soft kind but I've never even had one of those. DH and I score a hamburger on how soft/fresh the roll is that it comes on.

And this morning pretzel bun French toast.

You have to try this one. the texture is perfect! Safeway sells the pretzel rolls now.

Your photo makes it appealing. The first time I ever made French toast using homemade cinnamon bread and then pouring homemade spiced orange syrup over the top........I took one bite and said "OMG, this is what French toast is SUPPOSED to taste like".

Congrats Mike!

Today I processed two turkeys, sorted out eight for next year's breeder's, two more to finish raising for the holidays and someone came by to buy the last twenty turkeys!!!

Yup, ALL GONE, all 35 extra turkeys,

Of course it was great they also bought a bred dorper ewe, two dorper ram lambs and a dorper ewe lamb. They are coming back to buy our extra male alpaca and they want some roosters!!!

Good day

Wow, you got rid of a bunch of animals!

Mary that is just incredible, just use Maple Syrup made locally. Course needs beef sausage too.

Making me hungry just looking at it.
Jake - I just have to laugh here. There is no such thing as locally made maple syrup in CA.

Mary - Love the graveyard cupcakes! (I'm not trying it though) I have never heard of the pretzel buns, but both the sandwich and the french toast look amazing!

Congratulations! I showed/campaigned dogs for about 35 years, I know the time, effort and investment it takes!

I mostly showed less common breeds as well and it was a constant chase for majors. I think I only ever had one dog slide through, she was quite young and finished on a three-day weekend circuit. The breeder I bought her from was there also with her littermate and said......................."you picked the better puppy"......................

Diva must be out but someone needs to explain "special" to me when it comes to showing dogs. Is it like a chicken breed that isn't recognized? I goggled it and I still don't know. I guess the question now is what is campaigned?

Special

Slang for a Champion of Record who is being actively campaigned.

When you show a dog, it's with the intention of earning it's Championship. At the top of the pyramid within the breed is the class that you enter Champions, the class is also called Specials. Dogs that don't have their championship yet move up to compete with them for Best of Breed and increased points when they win the Winners class, but Champions can't move down to take the points away from the dogs that aren't "finished" yet (finished = have earned their championship).

You want to irritate the snot out of people? Finish your dog on Saturday, don't move them up to the championship class on Sunday and earn the major that someone else needed. They will shoot daggers and talk about you REALLY badly. On the other hand, move your dog up and "break" the major on Sunday, they will also talk bad about you, LOL (breaking the major = for example it takes 9 dogs for a major, you move your dog up and now there are only 8. In this case 8 = a 2 point showing and they were trying to chase down a major).

Campaign = you have a winning dog and just keep showing it to build the name for your dog, your kennel and yourself. Dog shows run somewhere almost every weekend all year round. If you are willing to travel (and fly), you could easily hit a hundred shows in a year. You also would need LOTS of money and way more endurance than I possess anymore. I gave up showing dogs when my son started showing rabbits and was doing so well that he was going best in show more often than not. Without showing dogs, I was getting just as much enjoyment from them at home. With the rabbits, if you didn't show them the thing to do at home was eat them.

I will admit, I used to say the advantage with rabbits is you could eat your breeding mistakes.
