My tribute to Martha got over 2,000 hits on my blog yesterday and some really sweet comments. Lisa at Fresh Eggs Daily, who has a huge following, posted the link on her Facebook page. Martha's story is officially the page with the most hits on my blog. As it should be.

I had to chase my old wheaten Americana, Skye all over this morning when she broke out of the gate I left open! She is old, slow, and a molting mess but she still gave me a run for my money!

I had to post on Martha's story just because it really hit home for me. I miss those great old ladies who have gone on to that Great Roost in the Sky. They gave their all, as did Martha. Folks who don't let chickens into their hearts, I mean really let them in, are missing out!

Add 4 cups chicken.

You'll find it more accurate to measure dry ingredients in a cup that can be leveled rather than a cup intended for liquids.

Of course, for the most accuracy, it's always better to go with recipes that use weights by gram.

I always laugh about the time I was discussing recipes with a rabbit breeder. She and my son raised Tans, which are a lightweight breed of rabbit (about 4 pounds live). This as opposed to a meat rabbit, which is 2-3 times bigger.

She was giving me a recipe for rabbit enchiladas and said..........................."take a rabbit, or if you're using Tans, take two".......................to this day I laugh about the breed specific recipe!

Hmm, well animals are about 90% water, so maybe they could be considered a liquid.
