My hatch. Three out so far, one zipping, one looks like a quitter. All three Isbars quit in the last couple of days.

These are adorable, all lined up for Mama's inspection!

Oh my goodness I could just kiss those babies all day long - they are just precious!

I am suffering from "my chicks have grown up."

My baby chicks are out in the brooder with the 2-week-olds!

They are huddled under the headlamp because I am out of Eco Glows!

No ecoglo's are you being mean to your babies.. Seriously I have never used thr eco but bet they are nice. I would hate to attempt baby chicks with me getting to migrate to the coast again for three months,Actually when I am down there I have an unused bedroom that worked well as a chick factory when the hovabator works well. The temp in there stayed stable. Some sets of mine hatch great and other utterly disappoint me sooo bad. Usually my eggs from home hatch well. Shipped are sort of a gamble. But that is one way to ge and get the kinds you desire.
Right now I want to keep the Dels going from Kathy and also get into the half-English Buff orphingtons this coming spring. I love my orps, EE. AM, GNH,Lav. orps, and one lone Dominic hen, just because she is heritage.
Yes I get the hatching fever everytime I gather a large amt of eggs too.

re: ecoglows, any suggestions on keeping them relatively clean? or just let them get messy & then clean once the chicks are out of the brooder?
