Stella's Social Club

Chooks Chick said something about that I think, if I remember right. Unfortunately I don't remember what she said to use.

I am paying attention because I have my eye on those Sweeter Heaters still, about $100 or so, for my bantam coop since we are on a hill with lots of windy rain all winter- maybe one day I will buy it. I will definitely have to put some of that drawer liner on it if I buy one (edited to add after reading about it in later posts).
Nah, there aren't any windy rainy hills in the pacific Northwest!

Our Halloween was rained out, as in down pours throughout the day.. Hope the kids had a back up plan for some indoor activity. Should be a field day for dentists after the neighbors eat all the candy they were stuck with.

Not on single trick or treater but Michael went out every few minutes to set off the fog machine. Lots of cars stopped and watched.

Hey all my nurse friends, any suggestions?

I had my flu shot eight days ago and I had a reaction to the shot. I think the reaction was to the injection itself and not to the vaccine. I've had a flu shot every year for the last 10-15 years and never had a problem.

I almost can't move my arm without terrible shooting pains and now the whole shoulder/arm/neck area aches and burns. The shooting pains are a solid 9 on the pain scale and I normally have a very high pain tolerance.

I finally broke down and went to the doctor this morning since it wasn't going away. He said there is no sign of infection/abscess (I knew that, no red/swelling/heat), but that the entire deltoid muscle was inflamed/hard/tight. He said the surrounding muscles are inflamed in an effort to protect the deltoid from movement.

He gave me a prescription strength compounded topical cream analgesic/anti-inflammatory/steroid to rub over the area several times per day. He said to continue the applications of heat like I have been doing.

Any other nurse suggestions? I always figure nurses have the practical knowledge of dealing directly with the patient.

I can't even believe how much this has hurt. It even wakes me several times per night

ETA - he thinks it's either the muscle reacted to something in the vaccine or they accidentally nicked the nerve with the needle.
