Stella's Social Club

Thank you, Mary. We have a heat pump, the original one, but we never use it. We heat with the wood stove exclusively.

I'm so angry right now. Ladyhawk had someone cut a lock on the nestbox of her bantam coop and steal two young Coch'anvers, a pair, out of it, sometime after 2:30 a.m. Thank God that her beautifully barred son of Isaac and his little pullets were in the front section or they'd probably have been stolen, too. The deer hunters are all drunk in the woods around her, shooting all night long, and spotlighting, and she lives in a n'hood with "special" people anyway, so hard to say who did it or exactly why. That's really hurtful and cruel!

If I feel I'm in danger of stuff like this, I will get another dog and a BIG one, too, mark my words.

Well, we'll be leaving in a little over an hour or so. Hopefully, it will be a fun trip. The birds will be mad, having to go inside on a sunny day very early, but hey, they'll live.
OH man, that sucks. I have a friend who had about 50 of her specialty chickens stolen earlier this year, and they police would not even file a report. Her guys DID come back, too, but go ran off with a shot gun. Tell ladyhawk to be careful!

Agriculture theft is odd sometimes in the way it is handled by Police. In Yolo County, Hay was being stolen--it had been stolen for a lot of years with out any enforcement. A new investigator looked into the theft and realized that it was a lot of dollars being stolen. Hay is a multi-million commodity in Yolo County. They are investigating hay theft now.

A warehouse in West Sacramento had several million dollars of Almonds stolen from it several years ago.

That is awful about the theft! She should put up a game cam-maybe she'll see who it is (I am assuming they will come back at some point.)

I hope you both enjoyed your Veteran's Day dinner.

Mary- I hope the new heat pump works out for you!

Thanks, it was nice, but very crowded.

LH's neighbor has his entire property under surveillance so he can watch from his work and see who's there. He is going to help her wire her entire perimeter within the month. Tonight, some local idiot were running a pack of coyotes across her property--KY has put out a bounty of $50/head on the coyotes so the :"special" folks around there are not respecting property boundaries. Why would rules of safety and privacy apply when they're hunting, for cripes sake, right?? So, she had a pack of 9 yotes in her pasture, as if she has need for more trouble. I won't tell the whole story but it involved them speeding away calling her crazy. Guess they'd better remember that so they won't come down her street again.

I was ready for a newer car, so I decided to trade in my 2005 Prius a few days ago. It had cream colored cloth seats which were impossible to clean. Plus, Michael dented in the entire passenger side a year ago when he ran into and a tree stump. At the trade-in, they deducted for a new front fender, rear fender, front door, back door, and for the two accidents he was in, not counting the one with the tree stump!

Needless to say, I had to come up with a little money to drive away in this 2012 Lincoln MKZ Hybrid! Tucker and I took it for a spin to Darkhorse Country Club around the corner from our house.

This car has white seats too, but they are leather and can be cleaned. Tucker now has a car seat that he has to ride in!

Michael promises to go around all tree stumps!
