Dental work complete..... well, until sutures are removed in 10 days.
90 miles to the dentist. Icy roads, so we stayed there so I could return this morning for followup.
Home sweet home..... no better place when you are in pain.

I hope you feel better soon!

I'm sorry, Kathy. I know all about dental pain.

Dental care should be part of a regular medical insurance program. They like to guilt you by saying how much your teeth affect other parts of your body, so WHY, oh WHY is it separate? Should be just another specialty within any medical program, period. Oh, but dentists would have a hissy fit because they wouldn't make as much money, I bet. I have to go soon for a supposed free cleaning, but I know one tooth needs a crown. I have dental insurance that I pay for every single month, but my dentist is over an hour away-no one local took that insurance-, but it ought to be part of my medical, get a referral from my regular doc and go.

Oh Kathy, when you said goodbye for a couple of days I thought you were going on a fun little trip! Going for dental work is not a fun little trip!

Feel better soon.

I am glad you are home! Dental is included in most of the western world. Just not the us.

My Delawares came from Sandhill Preservation, they are not show birds but have always been excellent layers and friendly, do not go broody annoyingly often, and the boys grow Huge.

there communication is poor. i kept 3 hens out of my batch that are nice looking
Sandhills were not bad Dels at one time. Some folks had issues with brown on them, but not everyone did. Isaac is a big guy himself. I've been very pleased with him and most of his hens. I think that somewhere among the other lines he was a product of was some of Sandhill's best Delawares.

Sunrise at my place this morning. I never tire of it. The circle on one photo is the glint of sun on cabin windows-a cabin we never knew was there until we logged our extra acreage. You cannot see it unless the sun shines on the windows first thing in the morning, even in winter, it's so hidden in the folds of the mountain. These photos show better if you click on them. They lose alot on this forum somehow. Oh, and an 8 pt buck was wandering the fence line this morning. Haven't seen one in quite a while. We see does all the time, but not bucks. This morning inspired my latest blog post on Blue Roo Creations.

love your place
I don't see any footprints, so he must have flown there.

Glad your neighbor was willing to take her in!
he flew. I carried him back after he was standing there awhile

Good grief! look at that comb and those wattles. He could ski on those wattles!
yep. He is a manly rooster
