Made raisin bread that didn't rise--I think my new bread machine hates regular yeast, though the recipe in the book that came with it has one option to use that or the fast rise. I had a very dense cinnamon raisin brick.

And we had baked chicken brushed with a mixture of mayo and BBQ sauce. Was very tender. Nothing else, just that. I'm full anyway. One slice of that raisin bread and I feel like I could sink the Titanic.

I am probably going to be throwing away a lot of food tomorrow. My guest list is dwindling as we speak. So, I have decided to stop hosting the family holidays. The lack of people being willing to RSVP, and then the last minute cancellations after I have spent hundreds of dollars and spent two days cooking, have broken me. I just can't do this anymore. I went from possibly twelve to probably five tomorrow. Stick a fork in me, I'm so done! Next year I am going on a cruise. I spent more than the cost of a cruise on food this year for people who never showed up. Feed yourselves next year people! I'll be at the midnight buffet!

:yesss:

I am sooo sorry-- I can feel with you

Mary - I'm so sorry. That is just beyond rude.

I once made biscuits that my DH called hockey pucks. Thankfully, I've gotten better at biscuits - though we don't eat them often.

Merry Christmas everyone!

Mary I bet a soup kitchen would kill for your leftovers
This is California. Cooked food is not accepted anywhere.

Well, my day went to the dogs, literally. I asked my sister to bring her dog Winston whom we hadn't met so he and Tucker could play. They had the time of their lives! I don't have a single good picture because they never stopped moving. It was fun. Who would have thought my holidays would be saved by dogs!
