I don't understand, if there is no noise ordinance, and you are zoned AG, what is the deputy doing?

There is no noise ordinance for this county, however, if there is a complaint and the sheriff checks it out and finds out the noise "rises to a certain level" he can offer the complainant the right to file a citizen's arrest. The deputy will then cite the offender for the person filing the citizen's arrest. There is a risk in filing a citizen's arrest if the charges are unfounded though. So you have to be willing to face getting sued before you do it.

I did it last summer against the guy blaring the music through outdoor speakers directly up to our house. Despite it being 1:30 in the morning and the noise was deafening, all the deputy did was order the security guard for the gated community to go tell them to turn it down.

This county is still part of the wild, wild west.
