, although I will wait a while to tell my BF about the eggs. Maybe until he is back to work (and far away).

Arkansas blue egg layers - looking for a more cold-hardy breed for blue eggs, and maybe one that is a little more social than the Cream Legbars. I had a lot of trouble with them this bitter winter, frostbite and some young birds dying. Although right now they are laying better than any other birds I have.

Swedish Flower Hens - some shipped, some picked up here in Michigan. And maybe some Jubilee Orpingtons from the Michigan breeder.

Had my eye on some Delawares but the breeder does not have any available that week. My girls are getting a little older, and I like to keep a few in the flock for their excellent egg production and nice temperament.

Had a moment of weakness and ordered hatching eggs for the week of April 7th. And, because I wanted to try a brooder plate, I ordered the Premier one. And then to get free shipping I ordered an egg skelter.

I may need protection from myself

Hope Kathy is doing OK!
That sounds great, I was going to ask about breeds, but I see you already answered that.

Thanks you guys

Where are you getting them?

So sorry, I was asking about the UofA Blues. There is someone that you should not get them from and I just set my fourth set of them so I have some information on how they hatch.

I have hatched them 6 times now and will likely hatch them 10 more times this year.

Hall Family Farm. Sounds like you really like them!

Yes!

They are heat hardy too. They stand right up with the Penedesencas.

They are close to commercial with their egg laying rate too. The Egg Farmer that I am hatching them for is very impressed.

For all my friends here, entries close 3/26 Midnight PST, enter if you haven't! (do a search in the thread for your guess, rather than reading all the pages)
